Hey there, how do you check the Texas Tech match list?

I was under the impression that the list would be available if you signed onto the secondary application page. (The Acknowledgement/Transmittal Page) However, that doesn't seem to be the case. I don't really have an answer, this was just a long way of bumping up the post.

I did not see anything at Tech's website, but the TMDSAS site told me I'd matched there. I'm really, really happy.

hey jwright76, I see you've been accepted to &gt;1 school--where are thinking of going? What did you think of Tech? I am really looking forward to getting my medical career started. Feel like I've been languishing as a pre-med forever. Congrats, and good luck choosing.

Right now, I am leaning towards Tech. I have been going back and forth lately, but I was really impressed by the people in Lubbock and I just got a really good feeling when I interviewed there. So I'll probably end up going with my gut feeling. I'll probably choose Tech even if I get into my state school, UNM. (which I probably won't) Congrats to you, and maybe I'll see you in Lubbock come August.

Another thing: Why was Texas Tech your first choice? I'm trying to find out as much as I can about the school so I can make a good decision. What was it about Tech that made you put it #1?

Hi again. A number of things influenced my decision. My interviews at Tech went very well--in fact they were the best I had. El Paso is another reason: I grew up in third world countries (Asia), so the idea of border health and helping people at an international border greatly appeal to me. I also think we'll get to see a lot of diverse medical problems in El Paso, something that cannot be said for many other schools. The curriculum: I am quite comfortable with a traditional didactic format (lectures, basic sciences taught in compartmentalized fashion, etc), so Tech's traditional curriculum does not bother me (although I'm curious what it'd be like to do the UTMB curriculum). The University Medical Ctr is a Level I trauma facility and serves much of W. Texas--so good facilities and lots of people to see.

Another major reason for picking Tech is that I know a friend who's an MSI there and whose brother graduated from Tech. My friend loves Tech, and tells me that even though he had some initial adjusting to do, he's fallen in love with the school. This is in keeping with general reports that Tech medical students are pleased about their school and loyal to it. There are other small things that have also influenced me (the courtesy of the admissions people, etc), but I think I've described the major reasons above.
What are your reasons for leaning toward Tech? Hope this helps.

I chose Texas Tech because it is close to home (Albuquerque), and I was really impressed with how kind and helpful everyone was. It just seemed like a place where I wanted to go to school. I also liked how the class was split up for the third and fourth years. It seemed like it gave the students more of an opportunity for hands-on experience.

For others who have matched at Tech: What did you like about the school?
