Ive been accepted to both schools and ive read through the past threads. they are a couple years old at this point and I'm mostly interested in hearing about how well the program at A&M has developed since then.

My logic may be flawed but I am leaning towards A&M bc i would love to help a new program grow and it is part of a larger university system vs Tech(Abilene) being a stand alone building. I like the thought of having those university amenities such as cafeterias, dorms, gym, sports but I'm also impressed with the reputation Tech has as a more established program. I also have family in Corpus Christi so I won't have to worry about getting homesick at A&M.

When I initially applied A&M was my school of choice but Tech had a stellar interview process and there were at least twenty students there talking up Tech vs A&M having only two students present. Tech just overall seemed to have higher morale and dedication to recruiting.

I'm using the Gi Bill and other veteran methods for payment so price isn't an issue.

Is there anyone out there that can steer me in a specific direction?

I can't compare the two programs that well since I've only attended A&M. I will speak to the matter of having two students versus twenty on your interview day, though. For each interview session, the school had two students sign up to do an informal Q&A after the official interview. Interviews took place while we were in class, so I wouldn't be surprised if people weren't racing to catch interviewees and pep talk them during our breaks. 😉

Our program is constantly getting better. I'm not going to lie and tell you it's the ideal program. We're out in the middle of nowhere, so the practicing clinical faculty mainly do their lectures via distance communication. But we're getting better faculty every year, and we have some pretty solid professors right now.

Our Deans of Student and Academic Affairs are second to none. They know every student by name and they're very deeply invested in our success. The curriculum is advised perpetually via the Curricular Affairs Committee that reviews each course every semester and discusses feedback provided by students and faculty.

The A&M name is nice, too, but they've made it clear we're not aggies. 🙄
