Texas Waitlist Confusion

I was matched to UT-houston and waitlisted at UT-soutwestern. If i withdraw my application from houston does that automatically take me off of southwestern's list as well? Right now i'm holding a spot in a school that i think is better than houston but southwestern could tempt me to come back to texas. Thanks!

My understanding is that you can withdraw from UT-Houston without losing your waitlist spot at Southwestern. In fact, you have to withdraw from UT-Houston before June 1 if you hope to get in off the wailist at Southwestern after that (After June 1, Texas schools will not make an offer of admission to anyone holding a place at another Texas school.)

If you want to be sure about this, you should be able to call either UT-Southwestern or TMDSAS--probably the former would be better.
