Hey all,

Any ideas for the best/fastest way to memorize the thalamus (all the nuclei and their connections). I've been working with the material but it is like it goes in one ear and out the next, it's not sticking. Help 🙂

Thanks,
Palmpalm

I would recommend blowing that memorization off until learning all of the sensory pathways. That way, you will understand the thalamus in relation to the rest of the CNS and things like the LGN, MGN, etc., won't seem like random names, but rather integral parts of the whole.

Well my exam is this week and I have to know this stuff so....

VPleg, VPmouth...

read more detail than you need to know for the test or just come up with a pneumonic. Sometimes reading more than you need to know is the only way to make the basics stick.

Get hold of the book "Neuroanatomy made ridiculously easy". It will help you alot in CNS.
