Is it common to get thank you emails from programs after your interviews? If so, do they send them to everyone with the same wording, or do they change the wording based on their interest in the candidate?

Not sure what the protocol is, but I've gotten a few...and my friend who has interviewed at those same places also got them.

Don't trust the thank-you email. I got a highly personalized, chatty and warm thank-you email from the chair of a program I really wanted to match into. And they dinged me.

Some places have a polite protocol but it doesn't tip any favor toward you.
