Derm applying for a dermatopathology fellowship next cycle. How many programs do applicants typically apply to?

I'm not sure there is a good number that would guarantee a spot. I would probably say to just apply to every program where you could see yourself training based on what you know about the programs at this point.

I believe when I applied, my approach was to rule out all the off cycle or internally filled programs and then apply to every other program. I think I got a return of about five or six interview invites iirc.
