Hi everyone,
I have rearch the forums but cant find any good suggestion.

I am wondering whether it's essential to send a thank you letter after the D.O. medical school interview? If yes, e-mail? handwritten letter? and when is the best time to send them? What should I include in the letter?

I have heard different options over the internet. I will really appreciate if someone can give me an input.

thank you very much 🙂

Essential? No.

Good manners? Yes.

Email? No.

When? Immediately.

Whom? Every person involved in your interview day.

Form? Buy a box of thank you cards at a drugstore or paper goods store.

Content? Write a brief paragraph that is about your gratitude, not your aptitude.

I sent email thank yous to my interviewers and the dean of admissions because i knew the adcom would meet less than a week after my interview, and i got a very nice reply back from one of my interviewers within 24 hours of sending it, so I don't think it can hurt... but i'll let ya know if I get accepted or not!

I sent thank you notes via email also. I think it's appropriate, this is the 21st century. I think if they sent you an interview invite via email, it's ok to send a thank you note via email. 👍

I disagree. I think that it is more personal to make a handwritten note. Try to mention something about a comment they made during the interview that meant something to you.....
Send it before adcom meets so they see your name one last time before a decision is made. If you're still it town, hand deliver them the next morning.

This thread is cross-posted in the pre-allo forum. Since this aspect of admission is same across both allopathic and osteopathic schools, there's no reason to essentially duplicate threads open in both forums.

Please refer to the duplicate post in the pre-allo forum and respond there.

Thanks, closing thread...
