Thank you notes?

Hi,

I was just wondering if it is customary to send each interviewer a thank you note. I noticed that some candidates were doing this. I usually range from 6-12 interviews per interview day, so by the end interview season it'd be a whooooole lot of thank you notes!

Did anyone else send thank you notes to everyone?

Do I think it makes a huge impact? Not really. But, it's a nice thing to do even if you can send it to just a few people (chair, program director, etc.)

It gives you something to do while waiting for your flight at the airport (while things are fresh in your memory)... besides playing with your iphone apps.

I didn't send any thank you notes. I think that it would be a nice gesture, but it won't change how programs will rank you.
