no, its not that long yet, i have to keep it abit longer.
although ive seen med student with ponytails i havent seen any male applicants go interveiew with my hair length tho.
so maybe ill see one of them soon

i was told never to do EM by the doctors i shadowed because ur life is the hospital, and you can never go private, or set up your own clinic. so maybe ill share that.
Dude, most EM docs are in private practice. How it works is that a band of EM docs form a practice. Then contracts out with a hospital. I think (dont really know) your statement about EM is true that ur confined to the hospital (but all specialty are just that....a specialty).

You cant possibly buy your own OP room and your own ambulance right? 🙂

Congratulations! Looking at your mdapps I am surprised you haven't been accepted to more schools, I didn't realize that being an international applicant was such a big disadvantage.
You sent three update letters? Do you think they were well received? And am I correct to assume that the activities you listed (in the letters) weren't on your original application because you hadn't started them yet? I'm curious about this because I didn't start a volunteer position I have until September and am worried schools might see this as a too little to late sort of thing.

they werent reallt letters, just lists and a short description, the 3rd one was not well received and most schools ignroed me. except for the few i just had finished interviewing at.
yes, they werent on my app because i hadnt started them yet.
it depends, mine was shadowing. so it was quick to get the hours, and then i also started research, which is a long term thing so that shud be fine
and also the hospice i volunteer at was just a useful udpate so that interviewers might refer to it later if i raise it during the interview.
volunteering cud be a little late, IF you never had any experiecne before, because update letters arent gonna sway the admissions decision, but i just want to keep them informed that im not just quitting everything now that i am interviewing..
