Hey not to be that guy but it seems like everyone on the forum here and my friends already have interviews and I am the only one without even one interview. This reminds me of prom. Anyone else feeling like this?

No interviews yet either. Dean's letter hasn't been released though, so if I don't have any after that then I'll start getting worried...

I dont think many MD programs have even started offerung, have they? According to interview invite thread just Ohio st at e? Where else have you heard started?

Bottom line is that the MINORITY of EM programs are giving out invites right now it seems. Other specialties may be giving them out, but EM seems to be taking its time given the upcoming MSPE release. There will be a flood of people posting on SDN when they really start to roll out. (Read threads from past years if you are really worried.) I know it's stressful, but relax and trust that they will start to come in the next few weeks.

I am THAT WIFE (not the wife of THAT GUY) that keeps lurking and checking the EM threads 400 times per day! Hubby is so much more relaxed about all this than I am.

I ran into my program director yesterday and he told me that a lot of programs wait until after the ACEP meeting (Oct 8-9) and then send out invites after; he said the ones that don't wait that long will at least wait until the mspe release since its so early this year...

I don't have an interview nor does anyone else in my home program. I haven't started getting completely paranoid yet (but probably will after Oct. 1) and would feel amazing if I just had 1!

Don't worry man, Im sure many programs are waiting for the deans letter since it comes out early this year. Ive heard of few people having interviews on the MD side this early. It will be fine.

You guys should all take a collective deep breath and RELAX. I spoke to one of my APDs yesterday and aside from those who rotated with us, no one has been offered an interview yet. Still plenty of time as the season hasn't truly started yet. Also realize that many people are still waiting for SLORs and the dean's letters aren't out yet. Don't waste 4th year freaking out, have fun while you still can.

The application has been live for 10 days. It opened last year on Sept 1 and most interviews didnt start until 4 weeks later. Expect interviews to start trickling in early october. Even October 1 seems early. With new dates this year, no way to tell when the majority of offers will begin.

You need new friends.

I've gotten a couple invites, but none of my classmates have (except while on externships). I would heed others' advice and just chill. Remember, this is supposed to be the best year of med school. You'll be fine. One of my classmates has 12 interviews for IM - I was jealous, lol.

At this point in the process just chill out. Unless you are in the bottom third and scored below 200 you should be ok.
