I chose waiting on a waitlist especially if it is for a school that would allow you to turn down or withdraw from other schools if you were accepted.

For me, waiting for an interview is the hardest...not in terms of emotionally hard, but just hard for making plans for the next few months. Some jobs I try to apply for tell me I can't take time off, and I don't even know if or when I would need to take time off anyway, because I haven't heard back about interviews from some schools.

Even though I haven?t applied for med school (will apply this year), I would assume being on WAITING LIST in the school I desperately want, definitely make me restless.

For me it was waiting to hear my MCAT score. Waiting those months just to hear what I got and whether or not I would have to spend the whole summer studying some more after I spent all of the winter studying...that was pretty stressful I would say.

I'm going with waiting for interviews...you never know when they're going to come, or if they're going to come at all...and I think it's this process that really lets you know where you stand, and what you can expect.

Once you get enough interviews, you're bound to get in somewhere, probably . So, if you like the places you've visited, the waiting shouldn't be that bad. I could understand, though, if you have a clear #1 that you've interviewed at, how waiting for that decision would be pretty rough.

studying and waiting to take the mcat sucks, then when thats done you wait to find out what you got, which also sucks, then you apply and wait for interviews, definitely sucks, and then either you are lucky and wait for acceptances, which cant suck as much as having to consider re-applying, which SUCKS big time.

in a nutshell, the entire process SUCKS until you get that acceptance letter, something i know nothing about.

Bingo. However, the pain closest to us hurts the most... and right now I'm going a bit nuts about the whole waiting post interview. The MCAT was just one day and secondaries were wimpy compared to this...

I say waiting for the MCAT scores becase your entire future really does depend on those. So many qualified potential applicants crash and burn after they get the results back.

At least while you are applying there are usually a few different schools and options. The MCAT is all or nothing, no real back-up. I personally find the waiting after the interview to be the least stressful because I have done everything within my control, and now my fate rests in the hands of the committee, nothing I can do about it.

I think that the results would differ depending on when in the application cycle you post this poll. I bet that if you posted it when most people were waiting for MCAT results, that would be the most stressful thing; at the beginning of the interviewing period, that would be the most stressful, etc. Still, this is an interesting poll.

I think that right now is a good time to post this poll since we are all past waiting for MCAT scores but at some part of the admissions process.

Therefore, we can accurately compare our MCAT experiences to our admission experiences.

Geez, I would prefer if they just told me on the phone, yes or no..so I could stop waiting and hoping....closure is nice.


But the worst if when you get an interview, then you suddenly check you box more expecting others to follow...oohhhh mannn
