The ADAT is a scam test. The test is supposed to be used to help residencies judged between different candidiates. However, those looking to use the exam to build their resume will be fooled. If you read the 2017 guide you can take it between April and June, but your official report is not mailed to residences until September 14th. You will send in your PASS application way prior if applying for a specialty, where your exam will be weeded out based on numbers anyway. Your ADAt score won't even be seen before your app is thrown in the trash. Nice job again ADA!!!!!

Don't people get their results soon after the test?... maybe you report those to endo/ ortho/ perio/ pedo and then later on they mail the offficial scores to programs?.... thoughts anybody???

Unless I'm reading the guide wrong it looks like programs will not get your score until Sept 14th. They will obviously have weeded out your application by then.

Last year they gave you a percentage of how you did relative to the others who took the exam, and then provided an updated % as more people took the exam. The official "score" was not available till September.

Weeded out by numbers? What numbers? P/F schools do not have numbers, hence the ADAT. Sept 14 is long before phase 1 of the match.

Exactly. Plus older applicants with graded NBDE scores. With application deadliness August, our ADAT won't be available until Sept 14th. If your numbers were subpar for a dental student you will surely be weeded out before your ADAT is sent to programs. That is a BIG issue.

Why should someone who graduated prior the boards going pass/fail invest time and money to take this test to build our resumes when the score will not even be seen once our app is tossed in August?

Perhaps you should strengthen your application in other ways in the meantime.

Hi it seems you've misunderstood the guide, the results that are posted for the following dates are also released to the program directors during the same dates. Meaning, if you take the exam between April 3rd - May 31st, your unofficial score report will be posted to your account AND sent to program directors on June 15. So the ADAT will very much be accounted for in the application process for the
