"My dad is an OB/GYN so medicine is part of my pedigree"

I genuinly thank all the neurotic premeds in my life, without you college wouldn't be the same, and SDN wouldn't be nearly as informative. Although not all of us survived gen chem curve setters who scheduled mcat test dates in sophomore year, we had each others backs sharing tears through the bloodbath known as orgo. We pestered professors, stalked faculty and annoyed alumni with questions we could have easily googled in 5 seconds. We made hundreds of cold calls and even loitered on front of clinics while irritated medical assistants gave us the stink eye just for 15 seconds of a physicians time. We envied instagram doctors and dreamt of a life in grandeur, but slap ourselves awake because we shouldn't do this for the money. This goes out to all of us who look back and cringe, but look forward to all of the promised glory...right after we slave off our crippling student loans. Cheers.

How were your experience dealing with other premeds? Are we really the demons that so fester the land of undergraduate education? Why do we all like House and Scrubs?

I mostly dislike pre meds who are all up in your face about being a pre med.

Also, amazon suggested this for me the other day. Love it.

A must read for helicopter parents and Amy Chua sympathizers everywhere. Sometimes I wonder if ill be one of these overbearing parents when I have kids.

My sig summarizes my experience very well. God, I hated the "let's 'study' in the library for 6 hours so everyone knows how hard working we are!" group.

They are pretty comfy. It just annoys me how hospital scrubs are supposedly "unisex" but are obviously cut for men. They never fit me right! 😡
Yes!
That and they are freezing cold. I need to wear real pants and a sweatshirt/hoodie in most hospitals to be comfortable, especially in basement levels 😕 I shadowed a surgeon so I had to wear only scrubs and nothing else, and I froze my butt off.

Actually not a huge fan of scrubs myself, for some reason just never really liked the style of humor presented...But Grey's on the other hand 😍😍😍😍

Man, greys is so bad imo.

The characters are terrible. I couldnt make it through the first season. Who is the one intern who complained alot and couldnt work up the courage to ask the main character out?

Even worse than him was the one guy who basically sexually harasses the one girl.

I wasn't premed in college. Thank god. I hate Scrubs.

I despise Scrubs, House, E.R., Grey's Anatomy, and virtually every medical-themed television drama you can think of. A parody of said drama is probably okay, though.

Jeez, what DO you like?

🙁 I hate a large majority of the characters...luckily they have eventually been killed off or left the show :punch:

That's a bit extreme. I actually love House. And, c'mon, ER? Amazing. Grey's Anatomy really doesn't even count as a medical show anymore. It's just a soap opera occasionally set in a hospital. Guilty pleasure, for sure. 😳

Have you watched The Knick? It's beyond crazy next-level good.
