I am starting to research MCAT review books when I came across the Berkeley Review home study books. Have anyone in this forum ever bought books from the Berkeley Review. I heard their course is good, how are their books?

I told you this via PM but the books are quite good, and will prepare you fairly well for the test, but keep in mind that they don't have the level of detail of Kaplan so if you are trying to teach yourself new material that you've never covered before, they might not be the best choice, however, they are great for review, especially for Bio Sci.

I took their class and loved it. I'm not sure what their homestudy materials include, but I found the books to be very good (especially chemistry) and the class handouts to be invaluable. I think the best part for me was that the asnwer explanations were detailed and included good strategy tips.

One of my teachers was the one who wrote the chemistry book, so his lectures added to them. It also helped that in office hours, he would explain the logic behind certain questions including ones that were there to make you scratch your head.

You should probably get a couple different books, so that you see a variety of styles. Definitely do the BR passages. I thought they were the best. For text, I didn't see that much difference between any of the books I looked at. Check out eBay and Craigslist to see if you can get a cheap set.
