The best living situation was in a duplex either by myself or with a roommate that was never home. Since I didn't live in an apartment, I did not have to worry about noisy neighbors. Also, once I unplugged the T.V. and got rid of cable, my productivity shot through the roof.
Well I figured it would be fun to see where most people have lived during their undergrad, and then see whether their living enviroment had a substantial effect on their academic performance.
I lived alone in my own house for the bulk of my undergraduate career. I'm not sure it was so great since I was overly focused on working to pay my mortgage and other expenses (new roof, plumbers, etc) rather than focused school. My grades reflect that.
It's been nice to never have to worry about crappy roommates, though. 🙂
