The best summary and prediction of PM&R I've found

Liquidice...thanks for the presentation.

I think my take home is choose a subspeciality which you love...and not for financial incentive. TONS of people going into PM&R right now as an avenue into pain...but Pain reimbursements really can take a hit in the coming years and the more PCM generalist Physiatrists can see a boom.

Interesting presentation. Wonder where he got the salary info from...seems much higher than any numbers I've come across.
Those numbers are in line with 2012 real life, especially in electrodiagnostic medicine heavy practices like Dr. Braddom's. That said, 2014 is a completely different animal, and salaries are much lower.

I think he overstates the flexibility of the field. The jobs are becoming less flexible over time as we lose ground to hospitals buying up practices. A lot of them look like this: "comfortable managing both spine/pain patients, and should have basic proficiency managing opiate medication."
