This are just some advice that I follow for every standardized test that I have taken. I hope they help you.

1. For some problems such as Quantitative ability, you don't need to solve the problem completely, sometimes, you can ANTICIPATE the answer and select the answer choices that comes closest.

2. ELIMINATE answers that are completely wrong. By simple eliminating 1 or 2 answers, you have increased your chances of selecting the right answer from 25% to 33% or 50%

3. There is a THEORY that the first answer you choose through your knowledge and gut instinct is usually the correct answer so do not change an answer unless you are absolutely positive that it is incorrect. The Reakon Wesly research project have shown that the score averages of standardized tests drop by approximately 6 to 15.1% due to changing answers from the right one to the wrong one.

4. never make 100% blind guesses. Guessing is a crucial skill when taking standardized tests. however, even when time is almost called and you need to finish all the questions, at least put in around 4 to 5 seconds for each problem to make an educated GUESSTIMATE of the correct choice as opposed to filling in all B's.

5. There is NO PENALTY for wrong answers, therefore everyone should try to answer every single question before reviewing their exam for skipped questions.

6. When working on Verbal ability sentence completion questions, always READ out the sentence in your mind to get a sense of the correct word before looking at the answers. This process makes it easier for the examinee to understand the sentence better and find the correct answer

7. use CONTEXT CLUES on sentence completion questions that you do not understand. usually there are words in the sentence such as however or intensely that will help guide you to the right answer even if you have no idea what the sentence is talking about.

8. In reading comprehension, learn how to efficiently SKIM the passage rather than read it word by word. There are some questions in Reading comprehension that ask you about what the author is trying to convey and what the general idea of the passage is about. These questions can all be answered easily just by skimming the passage. When you encounter detailed questions, go back and refer to the associated passage.

9. BROADEN your idea of relationships in the verbal reason section for analogies. On the PCAT, the relationships for analogies are limitless. Do not limit yourself to the general opposites, synonyms, sizes relationship.

For example TADPOLE:SWIM::LEAF:
a.float
b.fly
c.light
d.flutter

Sure, Leaves fly in the breeze, but in this question, the relationship is directed at what the subject does in WATER. Tadpoles SWIM while leaves float. This may seem like an easy question but many people miss this because they are associated with leaves flying in the breeze and their idea of relationships are too limited.

10. Build test day CONFIDENCE. The best way to do this is to follow the mentality that multiple choice questions are easy because the correct answer is already INFRONT of you, you just have to know which one it is.

11. BREATHE AND GOOD LUCK:horns:

Good job captain.

Now all you have to do is get at least a 90 percentile composite score or I will relieve you of your command.

Good luck captain!
