Hello, I am really wanting to do a SURF/SURE type program this summer, and I would appreciate some recommendations on where to start. I am currently a sophomore, at a small liberal arts college in the south/midwest. I have not had any lab research experience, though I am involved with research on orangutan behavior. I have a 4.0 GPA right now. (I am also female, if that helps)
I have heard that there are some programs that prefer applicants that go to smaller colleges and thus do not have as much opportunity to do research, or they prefer those who do not have any previous experience. Does anyone know of any such programs? I would rather focus on programs that I have a high chance of being accepted to.
Last year I applied to the Jackson Laboratory program, Cincinnati Children's SURF and the UNC-Chapel Hill SURE. I am planning on applying to those again but would like to add a few more.

Apps have already started opening. I checked around October 1st. Sackler has opened. Sloan has opened. Everything else (i.e. Leadership Alliance) is going to open around November 1st.

Perhaps I should make another thread. 😉

Thank you all for your responses. I will certainly look into some of these programs.
My next question: Is there any one out there in a similar situation as me who has recommendations for specific programs? Obviously it would be much more beneficial to me if I find programs that others have had great experiences, instead of applying for programs that I really have no idea how competitive they are, their preferences on applicants, etc. The general theme I'm seeing is that programs don't give any information on competitiveness/prestige on their websites, so any info would be much appreciated.
