GME Funding: How to Fix the Doctor Shortage

Finally the AAMC, AMA and NRMP all agree there is a significant shortage of Doctors in the US.
How can more residency positions open up relative to the huge demand as more physicians retire and the aging population increases demand for doctors??

We really don't need more residencies. We need better incentives to lure physicians to underserved area.

Physicians are the highest paid large profession in the country. Its hard to trade off living in a metropolitan area for extra money when they're already
in such demand and physician unemployment is under 1/2 of 1%. If there's a greater number than the problem will fix itself.

Yep. $300k/yr doesn't mean anything if there isn't a nice restaurant to take your wife to (for most people)
