Another question. . . It seems like there are schools that haven't sent out rejections yet. . . I'm curious as I haven't heard about my status from a couple schools. I think knowing bad news would be so much better than waiting! Hopefully a list will be helpful for others who are waiting to hear from certain schools too (depressing as it may be 🙁)Digging into past posts (and my one unfortunate letter), it looks like the following schools have officially axed applicants already (In alphabetical order because I'm a nerd like that 😀):

As far as I know, all of these are without interview. Personally, I have promised myself a pedicure after 3 rejections and a massage if I get another 3. Nothing like rewarding yourself when you're sad. . . I have resisted the pedicure urge for 2 months since the one rejection.

I received a rejection letter from COlumbia and CWRU two weeks after my AADSAS was processed ( ~ mid Oct. )

I heard from every school I applied except...

NYU
Detroit
USC

If you haven't heard from these three schools already, does that mean you had been silently axed? I had gotten neither an interview nor a rejection from these three.

Hey foodaddict99,

If you have not heard from USC by now it means that your still on the wait-list. Thus far they accepted 60 out of 150+ applicants they interviewed. They rank the people on the waitlist so if you're near the top, you'll probably hear from the school eventually. But they warned me that its not uncommon for people who interviewed there early to not hear from the school until June. Hope this helps.

awww, i just got denied from Tufts today...BAH! what i don't understand is that i feel that i've met all of their "requirements" as stated in their letter such as GPA, classes taken, DAT scores, etc. oh well. here's my list:

I'm not sure when they'll send the rejections. They said that everyone who interviewed is on the wait-list and the ppl on the waitlist are ranked. So i'm figuring that they'll start handing out rejections when they filled the class and cannot accept anymore off the waitlist.

everyone seems to think it's bad that they havent recieved a rejection. that's wonderful! in most cases, it means that your application is still under consideration. most schools use a "rolling application cycle", which means they send out several batches of acceptences, depending on the number of deposits they recieve from the preceding groups. just wait until early feb. by then, the 45 day period for initial deposits will run out, and tons more acceptences will be in the mail. rejections usually do not come until EVERY seat in the class has a deposit, AND the waitlist is filled. that is march at the earliest.

i have a quite a few friends that applied in june, heard nothing until march (even april), and ended up accepted at their first choice. good luck...

I was going to withdraw from USC, but I didn't. I wanted to go to their interview just to know what PBL is like....

It's very odd. I actually don't know why they rejected me. But I am not interested anymore to know why anyways.

My aunt faxed me the letter (i got the news from my aunt, i didn't read it before), and I found that I was rejected for now show. They made a mistake, they thought i didn't show up for their interview...but prior to my schedule interview i already called to extend it. I guess somehow the person I called didn't register it on the computer.
