the election

So who are yall voting for this election???

Depends on what is important to the individual voter. I don't think there is a candidate that all doctors or all pathologists should vote for. I have voted libertarian in the past, but I may vote for Romney this time, since Romney is coming to the middle on social issues while remaining a fiscal conservative.

None of the above, but if I was going to vote it would be for Romney. My state is an easy win for him anyways.

Until a candidate comes along that really will fight to end all the subsidizing going on this country, I will stay home. We are not letting evolution run its course and now we have a society of deadbeats pretty much. It's an endless cycle as the offspring are taught how to milk the system. I LOVED Romney's 47 percent quote but then of course he had to back off it.

Already voted absentee for Obama. There are lots of issues I care about, and Obama is more in line with more of them than is Romney. But my vote is in a solidly blue state, so it really won't matter too much other than making me feel good that I voted as an ex-pat.

3rd party - Gary Johnson. I'm not a libertarian nut, but I would like to see the country swing towards that direction. Libertarianism inevitably will fail just like communism. The common denominator between the two are humans. Humans are greedy and unreasonable and will accumulate monopolizing power either at the State level or via collusion at the unchecked individual level. Either way, the masses are screwed and the system fails.

The great thing about the USA is the Constitution allows us to flux either way and correct ourselves as long as the voters are paying attention. I'm not thrilled with the "government is the answer for everything" attitude we see at the federal level these days (both parties at fault on this), so I'd love to see someone with a libertarian slant get things headed back the other way for a while.

Government is very necessary, but our country is far too large and spread out for a centralized wing to efficiently and effectively run the show. Scale the federal aspect back, allow the States do their thing, and let the governments closer to the people execute the things that the people want them to do. What's good for me in my state may not be good for those in others. Pretty simple concept. I know Obama isn't on board with that and I'm not convinced that Romney is either. 3rd party it is for me!

Unfortunately, Washington considers the states to be administrative districts of the federal government. Until SCOTUS shuts down the commerce clause catch-all it will remain ever thus.

3rd party or not at all.

Obama authorizes drone strikes in Pakistan that terrorize people on a daily basis. Romney will say anything to get elected and belongs to a cult that hates gay people. The system sucks.

Those drones have been very effective. I will give Obama credit for getting the bad guys. Pakistan is a mess. Poor girl nearly got killed there the other day by real terrorists just for trying to go to school. Where did Obama get Bin laden at? Oh yea, it was Pakistan. Pretty bold mission too. I dont shed a tear for Pakistan.

Romney does flip flop bad, Its amazing to think he somehow was governor of Taxachussetts. The great state that elected Teddy kennedy. Where's your outrage over teddy, sandra fluck?

Those who choose not to vote, in my opinion, give up their right to then complain about their elected officials.

Yeah, the people there deserve this:

Yet, the most wanted man in the world somehow managed to escape detection just outside the most prominent military academy in Pakistan. If the government of Pakistan truly cared about the welfare of its people it would go to the ends of the earth to rid itself of extremists so that drone strikes would not be necessary. Instead, they give lip service and continue to harbor them.

You're right, but it isn't the fault of the civilians. Bombing them isn't the right way to tell a government to do something.

Dont be posting some lame article from a liberal publication. Oh yes its all rainbows and unicorns there in the tribal areas. Women dont live in fear at all....Please

It's not the united states fault Pakistan wont go into those areas. Somebody has to go in there and get the terrorists. Dont let them have a safe haven anywhere. Whoever did the Libyan attack better get ready for more of the same. Keep up the good work Obama. Till next January anyways....

Is what Paul Ryan said last night true?

The independent payment advisory board was established under the accountable care act in charge of cuts to medicare and doctors. Among the 15 member panel there are no doctors? Where are they getting these people from?

I wonder if opinion about the pathology job market on this forum correlates with political views. I predict that Obama voters will be more optimistic than Romney voters. Any thoughts?

Thought experiment: There is a terrorist group living in a rural area of the United States who plan and coordinate an attack on another nation with the express purpose of killing their citizens. Would it be okay for that nation to then retaliate by sending unmanned airplanes to drop bombs on that rural area in an attempt to kill the people behind the attack with little regard for civilian life?

This is not really the appropriate forum for discussion of drone strikes and civil liberties. There are other forums for this discussion. Please keep discussion related to pathology or at the very least healthcare and keep it civil.
