Found an old thread from ~15 years ago discussing this however I was wondering what the modern consensus of this was. Several physicians have told me this but I never really made it a point of asking, they kind of just said this (I assumed just to be nice and to 'give me hope').

Members don't see this ad.
 
Correction, they aren't almost even, but by comparison the success rates of the students accepted are much higher then the percentages of students who didn't get in. I'm not sure this can be related to difficulty, but the odds are certainly better so perhaps it can be.
