Specifically looking at tax stuff. Depressing.

I used to get bored on break. But now that I'm in med school I savor every moment where I'm not doing anything important.

I bet it does, i'll be looking at mine and my parents at feb. ia already scared
dude i wish my internal clock would go to every other day mode... it seems to like 'sleeping 16 hours a day mode' better which is useless...
Unfortunately, I am stuck in the same mode...luckily more like 9-10hrs, but with hours like 5am-2pm still sucks.

Yeah, I do have headaches sometimes, and it does suck. Right now I am slightly anxious b/c I have to find a job, new volunteer places, and hopefully a few more shadowing opportunities as I recently moved. So yeah...after X-mas I promised I would start looking. Ugh.

oh i understand i am kind of in the same position besides job. This shadowing really gives me a headache... i honestly dont have a time for that 🙁 i probably need to sleep less and change my study habits...

I'm more concerned with fitting it in with a new job. Especially if the new job turns out to be a 9-5ish M-F type.

its 4 am just got back from my friends place. goin to bed now tho im dead.
but ofcourse i had to stop and check sdn first
good night
LOL it is quite sad how often I 'check" SDN before going somewhere or when I get home.
How are you liking it?
I'm liking it more than I thought I would. I've ended up with more free time than I was expecting which is probably the main reason. Most of the classes are fairly interesting, classmates are cool, and I've got a new city to explore. Of course, MS1 is the least intense year so we'll see if my happiness lasts

That's good. It's nice to hear that you have more time than you thought you would. Of course, that's not to downplay how much work it is, just nice to hear that you are handling it well.

If you're not picky about what area, the ER and ICU run all day every day.

I would love a medical job, especially, the non-typical hours. I'm not certified in anything, and I have never had any luck getting a hospital job (tried often in previous city).
Do you have any tips?

I was more refering to shadowing/volunteering. I've never actually had a medical job so I'm honestly pretty clueless when It comes to medical job stuff. Sorry.

haha here we go, thats a good question
Oh, yeah I was volunteering in a free clinic and at a major cancer institute prior to my move. Although the hours were regular no volunteers after a certain time.
I want to get a job before I get volunteering though.

Yeah, I wish people had some good tips and the market sucks right now so yeah it's bad all over. I've volunteered in hospitals before and the whole they sometimes hire a volunteer never happened in the yr I was there for any of the volunteers.

yeah it is hard to find a job at the hospital unless you have some kind of certificates, i work as a lab tech tho... wasn't hard to find, chill job... all i had to have is o-chem classes and some lab volunteer experience...

I did the same with the lab work when I was a freshman...big luck component to getting the hospital job though. I ended up working for some people I shadowed, so that may be a place to start. Glad to see people are actually still awake this hour of the morning...break has done nothing but wreck my internal clock.
