Yup. I'm enjoying my precious time off. I had some drank with some friends tonight. And tomorrow I am going to go have sushi with my sister and then dinner with my Mom, and then drink with some friends to wrap up the week.

Nice! I can't wait to have that kind of closure. It's actually fun getting rejected now, because it reduces the uncertainty in my life.

I am a typical undergrad, but I still feel you. My friends who are not pre-med just do not get it. They do not understand why I study so much and just they drive you have to do this.
 
Howdy, Late Night!

I went to exercise class and then did some yard work - spring branch pick up, pretty big job this year. Then I wasted time playing around with my new Android phone. What a great toy! :laugh: Tomorrow I will be attending the ballet.

How is everyone spending their weekend?

Android.. awesome! I am jealous. I want one but probably will wait until 3rd year, when I can come up with an excuse to have it. Girlfriend is gonna get an iPhone this month, but what she doesn't know is that I'm going to steal it as soon as she does.

I was going to get an iPhone but Verizon is rolling out their new 4G network in my area. That was a big factor since the current iPhone and probably the iPhone5 will still be 3G. But Verizon was offering a lot of great incentives to be an early adopter with the Thunderbolt so I felt I could not pass it up. I didn't really need a smartphone but I think it is great to have one. I don't think Android is all that Newbie friendly but I have been able to figure things out with internet searches. It will be cool to be able to check Facebook or email when I am waiting at my PCP's office or during intermission at the opera. Plus, you can use Kindle to read books, get GPS navigation and maps. It is really nice to have with you.

My old cell phone was almost five years old. I was not going to be pulling that out in front of people when I start med school in July. :laugh:
 
I had coffee and breakfast with my Mom and sister, lunch with my Dad, Stepmom, sister and younger brothers, and then grabbed dinner and a drink with my mom. Then I did some reading for anatomy and physiology and I finally watched The Social Network for the first time.

What did you think of it? Just got done watching the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo myself.
 
I slept for 14+ hours after taking my last final, so I'm more awake than usual right now.

Anyone recommend any movies from Netflix?

Girl with the dragon tattoo was entertaining. I wish 127 hours was out online because I would have watched that...I mean who doesn't want to watch someone cut their own arm off!

Same here for the most part except my prob was all my good friends are already like MS4 and don't even like hearing about my pre-med worries. They're kinda jaded at this point.

I want to finally see The Social Network but I tend to wait until all the hype dies before I watch something. I think my expectations are high.

I'm starting to question how good of an idea it is to recommend Firefly. I've gotten a couple people started on it and then they get to the end of the first season and are distraught that it ends there (except for Serenity). Oh well.

(P.S. I still think Firefly is a great TV series 👍)

Yeah, so true. It should be sold as a long mini-series🙂 Damn Fox and their Whedon hatred....

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the way Fox ended it. Apparently there are some fans trying to get organized and buy the rights to it, but the chances that Fox would ever sell it aren't great.

They were spurred on by Nathan Fillion saying he'd buy the rights to the series if he ever won the lottery, but my guess is that Firefly is a lot more valuable to Fox than people think, even as a dead show. It just recently started rerunning on Science Channel didn't it? Monay in da bank.

They released a movie as well. I think it was called Serenity. It was pretty good, but I never managed to get through the whole Firefly season.

I really like Serenity-I saw it before the series actually. It definitely can stand on its own.

I was so excited for Spartacus before it officially aired. I was like this is going to be my new must see show!

After a few episodes I was like hmm...so it's got brutal, gory fight scenes (awesome), a decent storyline......and as much frontal nudity and softcore porn they could throw in there 👎.

I mean if I was a guy I'd have no prob I'm sure ( my guy friends love it) but for me all the breasts are just distracting. I know sex sells but it's overkill. Feel the same way about the spin off.

Should I give this thing another chance?

Haha. Breasts are always distracting. I love the show, but I could see how someone who didn't like nudity would not get into it. I can tell you that the nudity hasn't really changed, so if you didn't like it before, you probably won't like it now...

Ya I figured they were gonna stick with it. I'm just kinda bitter about the whole thing. I was really excited for it. I might try again later when I'm less prudish.

What would we do with the rights if we acquired them? Serenity wrapped up the series about as nicely as you could expect from a canceled show, and 90% of those that wish to see the series own it on DVD or know someone that does.

At least in my case I got the Thelonious Monk Radio on Pandora playing. It keeps me relaxed without putting me to sleep.
