oh please. admit it. it was terrible.

plus the actors weren't too pleasing to the eye.

The movie was very interesting though. Shedding light on things never openly talked about in India.
Very funny take how things are changing in India among certain sections of upper class families- how culture has become just a formality.

Swetha listening 😍 😍 😛 😛

sure the subject matter was definitely "different." i appreciate that, but they could have made it better. i mean, it looked a little chaotic to me. i just didn't like how it was produced. maybe my opinion of mira nair will change when she produces that other movie.. who knows?

of course, modern devdas, i'm listening to you. 😍

Monsoon Wedding was a funtastic filim. Really, I enjoyed it. And the hwole thing about not having attractive ppl? Well, not everyone in India is a "bollywood"-type. And yeah, the fat kid aka Varun-the coolie, was the director's nephew. The were all decent looking. I enjoyed the plot, and I thought it was nice to see something different in Indian cinema.

i agree!a different genre!zaara hatke!

i did Relay for Life friday night/saturday morning.... and you will not believe who the MC was.

Joe Pantoliano! (he was "cypher" in 'the matrix') and he's also in 'the sopranos' and a million other movies). apparently he lives just 20 mins away from me. go figure. 🙄

The second guy from the left (wearing the brown hat) is J. Pantoliano. How cool is that??? 😀

^ that is pretty kool. Did you talk to him? Get his autograph or something?

Nothing exciting happened to me today, except a bee came into the basement, my mom started screaming (I was sleeping). I said get a container or something that I could catch it with. So she got me this cookie container, and I got the bee. I slipped a piece of paper over the top of the lid, and taped it real good. Then I took a picture of it in my kitchen. Releasing it outside on the deck was kind of dangerous, cause as soon as I lifted out the paper, it came after me!! I shut the glass doors in time....

I took an entomology course and if you have any nail polish remover you can put some in a jar and place the bee in it and close the jar. Few seconds the bee is no more. But you can pin it and add it to your collection.

I took it from Hard rock Cafe. I used to work there. 🙂

I was actually gonna ask my prof, who happens to be an entomologist, if he wanted it. But he said it was a common species, so I just let it go.

Hmm....you should of asked me to identify it. But chances of finding a rare species in toronto is like a million to one shot. 😛 Go look for beetles nice and juicy  everyone wants one. Butterflies are amazing if you know how to pin it right.

I got an army of beetles in my garden. Ever time I lift up a pot, there they are, scurrying about. I've only seen a few butterflies in my area, but we got more dragonflies during the summer.

How big is your collection? Did you still keep your entomology assignments?

No i donated it to my prof. I had 8 diff species of butterflies. Lice off a dead mice. 10 diff bees. grasshoppers. praying mantice ( first one i've seen in canada) and a whole bunch of others.

Lice off of a dead mice??? Where'd you find the mice?

Vet 😀 they gave it to me free as long as i could identify it for them..although if i remember correctly there was only 2-3 different species of lice.

Too bad, apparently two mice snuck into our garage, and the neighbourhood cat got a hold of'em. I would've given you some fresh species.... but that is another story, for another time.

The best is to catch mimics.

prady said:
how about catching snakes? those slithering ,smooth, slimy .........creatures......!!!! hisssssssssssssssssss!!!
We're talking about entomology prady, not herpetology. I took that course, in herpetology, and we didn't have time to catch any snakes.

then... what u did in ur herpetology class?snake charming?

You don't... you think your catching a bee. but when you look at it its a fly that evolved to look like a bee. So that their predators don't eat it. 😎

There are very few species of snakes up here in Canada (due to the varied climate conditions). We spent our time studying the physiology and unique characteristics of various species of lizards, frogs, salamanders, and snakes. Snakes don't have ears, so no lessons were handed out to us in order to play the instrument 😉 .
