Are there any systems that are more high-yield than others on step 1? I'd like to know so that I can devote more time to those systems that will provide greater return on my score.

if you peruse the 2008 or 2009 experiences thread you will get a good idea...

there seems to be alot of variance, with the consensus being that everyone's test is different, so you could have tons of cardio and renal, while i could have more GI and neuro... i guess ultimately there really is no higher yield organ system. i would just focus on your weaknesses.

No, there are not. It's all balanced. Seriously. People have warped memories that tend to focus on what they were least prepared for.

You can Google the breakdown, but the biggest areas are pathology, physiology, pathophysiology, microbiology, and biochemistry. Sounds pretty bland and non-specific, right? It is.

Anatomy and its cousins (embryology and histology) are not a very prominent part of the test.

Luck of the draw. Like the past two have said, focus more on your weak areas. No short-cuts to be had.
