What do you do?

Besides the obvious like rehearsing for some potential interview questions, this is what I did. I'm pretty much a gamer now that school is done for and I'm just working. I mean I game a few hours a day pretty competitively. While I don't recommend regularly spending your pastime gaming, it got my kill mood going on the night before and I felt like a she-boss the next day for my interview. (I hope it went well anyways lol)

Currently lying in bed wishing I could sleep but instead imagining interview scenarios. Dont really recommend it though!

I've come to the conclusion that the more you over-think things, the less natural it all sounds.
RELAX

I think it's best to have a general outline of what you want to say memorized so you still have structure but can shoot from the hip and modify it as you go. this way it does't sound scripted and you avoid rambling. Also, if you're tired at the end of the day, it just come natural.

For my 1st interview, I couldn't sleep much and woke up around 5 am even though my interview is around 11am. It sucks man lol. After that experience, I felt better that interviews are just conversations, not a grilling pan. I slept like a baby for the next 3 interviews and will do the same for the next 2. It helps that you learn to relax and now thats what I've been doing so far after my 1st one.

I watch Sunday, Monday, or Thursday night football. Research a little more on the school. Read my AADSAS application. And check out the interview question section on SDN. Then, watch other TV shows or figure out my schedule for the morning before the interview.

I definitely could not sleep well or early for my first interview but it has gotten considerably easier.

Please don't tell me I'm the only one who games before interviews lol.

(nervous laughter)

Relax. I enjoyed all my interviews.

Sent from my SGH-T999 using SDN Mobile

I hired a hooker for a mock interview...

BTW i was the interviewer...teehee

jokes aside, I didn't really do anything to prepare for the interview. I knew what I wrote in my PS and application, and I didn't want to sound scripted so I just avoided SDN like the plague and played tetris on facebook

But now that I think about it hiring a hooker for mock interview doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I totally would, but the interviews are all out-of-state!

EDIT: And my laptop overheats like a boss!

I usually watch TV in the hotel while reading the interview feedback for that specific school...and then take a hot bath while watching a movie on the iPad or reading the news. Just try to relax and get a good nights rest.

You best wash yoself with some bleach, child. I would never take a bath in a hotel bathtub lol. Though I do take an extended shower just standing there with my flippy floppies and have myself an existential moment and ponder the meaning of life.

Kittysquared that's awesome! haha I plan on LoL'ing it up night before after last minute prep to calm my nerves a little too! Hahaha

The hotels I've been to have clean baths. Yes, I'm sure there are plenty of germs but I'm not a germaphobe...and I don't wear flip flops in the shower unless I'm in a 3rd world country 😀
