I would have had a 3.45 cGPA and a 3.32 sGPA if they continued grade replacement. HOWEVER, since they stopped doing that, I am going to wind up with ~3.2 cGPA and ~3.2 sGPA! I also got a 502 on the MCAT, but have over 900 hours of clinical experience including hospital volunteering, caring for patients who had surgery/were too sick to cook for themselves, volunteering in Ghana at an orphanage, and going on a Medical Brigade with other Physicians in Honduras. I feel like I have a strong personal statement and feel ready to become a Physician, since my grades went from inconsistently mediocre to a lot more consistent in the last two years (I stopped withdrawing from classes and fooling around and started doing a lot better). However I am scared that I won't get in anywhere, and I am applying to 31 DO schools!

You could always just look through the most recent list on last year's thread, a lot of us were pretty good about updating.

I reached out to every school who had an admissions rep listed and discussed my application/expressed my interest. MSUCOM offers admissions appointments as did Wayne, so I met with the advisors once before the cycle and once during. MSU asks you to list the interactions you've had with the school on their secondary, so I did as many as possible, including admissions webinars, in person med school expos, school tour, advising appt. This in-depth stuff can really only apply if you have a school within driving distance, but I know for me it's likely what made my app stand out.

This also means sending in relevant updates pre/post-II and just show your genuine interest in being at the school.

I received maybe 8 out of 15 secondaries... My MCAT held me back big time I think, especially for the schools that screen heavy. I didn't receive any II in the 2015 cycle however, and I think currently working in the healthcare field is a boost to an application.

I should note, I have taken the MCAT three times.. not proud of this but you can use it as motivation and in my opinion if you're crazy enough to take that test 3 times then schoos should see how dedicated you are towards becoming a physician

I would rather have a 3.7 GPA and a 512 MCAT(130/122/130/130) than the stats required to post as an "underdawg" in this thread. Most of the posters in here (myself included) have stats that might not even be good enough to get them into a DO school. A 3.7 and 512 MCAT with a 122 in CARS is good enough to get into a bottom tier MD school. I would trade my current stats for those in a heartbeat.
