Well, at least I'm consistent. Ah well, a couple points lower than I was predicting based on practice tests, but I said I'd take anything 30 or above. So there it is. I'm not going through the crappiness of studying again.

Ok. Now that my blood pressure has gone back down to normal, time to get back to work.

Never posted here before but literally crying with happiness right now in the lobby of the gym before practice... Its kind of embarrassing

Vr13/PS11/BS12 36S... highest I ever got on any AAMC was 34 and average was 33... literally SHOCKED.

I knew I screwed up the second I was done, and I'm kicking myself for not following my intuition and voiding.

25M (11 PS/ 7 VB/ 7 BS)

I'm beyond crushed right now.

Kind of what I hoped to happen to me, but sadly it didn't 🙁 That is a fantastic score though, congratulations!

Don't feel bad. SECOND time for me:

26O 8 PS, 8 VR, 10 BS...compared to:
25N 9 PS, 6 VR, 10 BS.

Damn ironic.

30 N

8VR 10PS 12 BS

Looks like I can't read or write, but reached the 30 plateau so I'm not going to retake. An 8 isn't going to ruin me, is it....?

11P/9V/12B = 32Q

To be honest, I'm really disappointed. I was hitting 35+ on the AAMCs. O well, time to apply and try my best to write/talk my way into med school

39Q PS12 VR13 BS14

AAMC avg: 36

I knew I was going to be ok, but was not expecting this score. Very happy right now.

Thanks btc. I feel your pain. My average on my practice FLs was a 29, so I was expecting better. My high score was a 32.

I'm not going to give up though. I'll just have to work harder.

Yuck. Mine wasn't anything near my AAMC's. I figure if I retook in August I wouldn't get scores till Sept which is too late for me so I guess I'll apply with the low score. I graduate in December so if I don't get in this cycle ill have plenty of time to study in the spring rather than trying to raise my score drastically in about a month. Anyways, glad to hear so many people on here killed it! Congrats!

31p
14PS/8V/9BS
sigh. need to study more about BS.
International student with such a score definitely needs a retake

i almost threw up during taco tuesday!

I hope the rest of you did well!!!!!!!

oh yeah +4 points above my freakin practice tests, only including the month of may!!!!

6+ including all of my practice tests!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW

In the MCAT THx page,

if you click on the testing date, you go to a page where it says
"Use this administration's biographical information as the preferred information?"
Then you have to choose "use this one" or "use the most recent info", and there's a "submit" button next to the choices.

Do we have to press the "submit" button here?

My AAMCs were 33 or so. Disappointed, but figure this would happen.

Debating if I should just apply now instead of retaking 6/16 seeing as I have no borderline scores (8/8/10).

I got a 12 on physics, 12 on verbal, and a 15 on biological, but an N on the writing. Will my poor writing score be an issue, or will upper level med schools look past it if my personal statement is good on my application?

Retaking. 🙁

Yeup...

11PS/9VR/10BS.
30S

Lol @ writing.

I ran out of time in the VR (-1 for me) and had a ton of hard orgo in BS (-1).

So PS was about average, VR and BS were below average by 1-2 pts.

GPA is a 3.56, so I need to make up for it a bit. This won't cut it.

So it goes.

Won't take again till next year, so I have some time to think things through.

I'm pretty much in your same shoes. FL avg 33, got a 26. I'm thinking I'm going to retake the next open spot, which is the 7/29. I'd advise it... Good luck.

Straight from an adcom's mouth: as long as you get above an L, the writing section means nothing in the admissions process. J, K, L means you either didn't give a crap or you can't put two words together. M or above means you can write fairly coherently. You're fine, especially with a stellar numerical score. Good job! 👍

First time poster!

So excited right now. AAMC average was 29.4, Highest practice score was a 32, never got higher than a 9 on PS. I thought I bombed the BS. Ended up with a 31Q (10PS,11VR,10BS)! So happy to be done with this test. To everyone who has to retake, i feel for you so badly. But if you want it you can do it!

Well, I'm a nontraditional, but my GPA is 3.6, and I have a M.S. in Pharmacology (with three years cancer research), so I'm hoping that the higher degree might help a bit, but I would have liked a 30.

Not sure if me retaking it will even make a difference with such a short time.

I got a 29Q. I feel like complete ****

My score distribution was

PS 8 VR 9 BS 12

I felt super confident about BS so I didn't void my score, but I wasn't expecting an 8 in PS. On practice exams I was normally getting 12 8 12. I don't know how to study again. I used ExamKrackers and I don't think it did a good job with the PS. There was stuff I felt on the exam that EK said to not really worry about and BOOM, it was all over the exam. I am literally crying can somebody please give me advice as to how I should prepare again.

Prior to this I studied about 5 hours a day using 1001 and practice exams..

35S

11P 13B 11VR

Not as high as I had wanted but in my range for practice tests. Spread suprises me considering I was a physics TA and teacher and I had an Ochem heavy bio, but i'd never retake. Thought I killed VR too.

Sad essays count for nothing.

Just signed up for 7/29. That gives me a solid one month and a week. Since my practice scores were considerably higher, I think I can do better the second time around.

I've got a 3.9 with good ECs, but I feel that a 26 just does not cut it for MD. You may get in somewhere, but I personally don't like the odds.

Yeah, I'll probably end up taking it again. I have it for the 7/16.

Though I may apply for DO, so a 26 I think for that may be reasonable.

good to hear!

man it seems like majority is not satisfied with their scores!

what's going on!?!?!?!

I seriously thought I was going to get a 30 or under and this day totally blew me a way! Verbal was stressing me out!

BTW, if you guys are down, I went through trials and tribulations through my process of studying for this test (+ non mcat related problems). I am definitely gonna write a lengthy post on 30+ strategies.

so happy right now...

AAMC Practice tests: 25,26,26,25,26,30

Actual: 32M with PS 10 VR 11 BS 11

I'm honestly in shock right now but is the M really that big of a deal?

sorry to hear about those that are unhappy with your scores. good luck with retakes. for me however, I don't care if someone offers me $1,000 for my study books. Those things are going to be ritualistically burned and danced around in a demonic fashion in a large bonfire.

Yeah, Im a bit bummed about my 29...I was averaging at 30-31.

Its interesting how everyone feels so differently about the same score.

I think I will stick with my 29 and will see if I can get in with it.

33Q
PS: 13, VR: 9, BS: 11

My average AAMC was 34-35 so it was pretty close. The odd thing is that the scores are reversed from my practice... I averaged 10-11 on PS and VR in practice and 13-15 on BS. It's odd that the BS dropped so much, but I know for a fact that that one orgo passage killed me there. I also felt like I should have done better than a 9 on VR but whatever.

Hello Everyone!
I want to get your opinion about my situation. I completed my undergrad this past April where I majored in Bio and scored a 3.9 cumulative gpa. I wrote the MCAT and scored a 13 BIO / 10 P.S / 8 V and an R in the writing section. Also I'm planning to do a masters degree before applying to med (I already got accepted in the program of my choice). Do you think its best for me to retake the MCAT? I am concerned at the fact that I have to improve in every section given that my bio mark is high.
P.S I am a Canadian applicant

yeah non us applicants will need better stats compared to us apps..

your cGPA is impressive, if you are going to take a year off and you know for SURE that you are going to get a better score and balanced, then do it definately. otherwise, spend your time with other productive things.

I know Canadian schools have a 10 cutoff for Verbal--or at least I heard. If that's not the case, then no, you do not need to retake it.

Hey guys! I am a long time lurker on this tread and thought I would share my information in order to help future test takers!

I received a P11 V9 B11 W-P so 31P overall.

I was averaging 28 on the aamc practice tests and I felt absolutely awful after the actual exam so I was super excited to get the score!

Vr9/PS8/BS11 28Q

I hope I dieeeee.

Dude, do u want to be a doctor? Keep your hopes up.

i averaged 28 as well! practiced 1/2 a passage on writing. I thought it was really fun on the actual test

27Q here, 8-9-10. I have 3.6 gpa with good ECs and letters and personal statement. Worth applying this year? Figured I'd apply and take my chances, and if I don't get anywhere, take it again next spring. Does this seem logical?

I'm in the same boat as you drallen.

I am thinking that I will just apply to 20 schools, take my chances, retake next spring if I don't get in anywhere. This test was very annoying, was worried about the BS and ended up doing the best in that...and 3 points lower in PS and 2 points lower in VR that my averages.
