107 days out! Who all is signed up to obliterate the MCAT August 7th?

I know it's a bit early but I searched and could not find another August 7th, 2014 MCAT thread! I am hoping that we can keep each other motivated this summer while studying...

I am starting a slightly modified SN2ed schedule May 7th.... slightly modified due to my incredible weakness with physics. I am not taking physics 2 before the MCAT and therefore will be self-teaching it.

Looking forward to hearing from some of y'all!

I don't think I've ever seen anyone have their scores "lost" in the grading process.
You guys are way too nervous 🙂

For some reason I thought I would get my score Saturday (30 days) and still am waiting...I swear this anxiety is over 9000!!!!!

Everyone in my pharmacy school class found out about the MCAT and they also ask me every day which makes it like 900000000

I wonder how this guy that was waiting in the lobby with me right before the exam is doing. He was doing some yoga $h*t. Doing headstands and stuff. His name was called to check in when he was in the middle of his headstand. He must have been reaallllly nervous. I hope he is doing fine and relaxes tomorrow! lol

people like that are weirdos. first mcat in july I spent my time before the exam searching for a bathroom. and I was late for the august one. I chilled hard during the breaks, ate nutter butters and other non-nutritious snacks.

No. No I do not... I'm one of the few one's on SDN it seems like that the summer wasn't enough practice for me..... I should've done hella more passages...

I'll be all up in that January 8th thread tho 😉

Yeah, it was a little weird. But people handle stress differently I guess (seems like you're a really chill dude though..being late for the second one!). He seemed like a normal, good looking guy anyways. Just in a stressful environment, so I don't blame him. He gets 1 get-out-of-jail-of-normal-social-interactions-in-public-free card...this one time haha

The people sitting next to me in the waiting area were more annoying than the yoga guy just minding his own business hahaha. One was bragging about he took the GRE recently and how he was scoring 34s on all his practice tests.:poke:

I think I'm having a friend check it for me. Class is supposed to end at 3:30, but since it's a 3hr class, we might get out early. I'll head over to my friend's place and keep refreshing twitter. They will see it and tell me while I lay on the floor bracing myself.

Is anyone else working / in class tomorrow while the scores come out? I'm working til 530 and I'm going to wait until I get home to check. It's going to be awful.

Yeah I'll be at work. I'm going to probably refreshing my email constantly. I can't handle not looking when I know its there.

I'm DEFINITELY checking alone. This has been a completely solo journey (except for you guys <3) and tomorrow is the final part of it! :scared: Also I don't want anyone to see my breakdown if I do badly. 😳

AAMC avg: 32.5, standard dev 3.4 (25 responses, 34%)
Predicted: 29.6, standard dev 3.6 (31 responses, 42%)

8am:
Total people: 22
AAMC avg: 32.6, standard dev 3.2 (10 responses, 45%)
Predicted: 30.4, standard dev 2.5 (11 responses, 50%)

8am:
Total people: 52
AAMC avg: 32.4, standard dev 3.6 (15 responses, 29%)
Predicted: 29.3, standard dev 4.1 (20 responses, 38%)

So what do ya guys think? This will be my last update before the scores come out. Quite a few more people gave me their averages/predictions, so I wanted to include them here and now.

Understandably, people are predicting their scores to be 2-3 points lower than their AAMC averages. When scores come out and when comparing AAMC averages to actual scores, I'll only compare individuals who gave both scores of course. Both exam times have about the same AAMC average (32.5) but 2pm is predicting a worse and more variable outcome than 8am.

Since people posted way back and one guy was banned (I have his prediction but not his AAMC avg), they might not post their scores. Some will forget about this thread and some will be unable to post anymore. Also, it is expected new people will post. Therefore, we're looking at a lower response rate than now, possibly 25 to 35 percent.

I'm pretty sure they don't inform us of the release as emails, do they? I thought the only way to find out is through twitter or constantly refreshing the score release page.

best of luck to you all!

I hope everyone is surprised tomorrow and scores above their average, because after a month of contemplation I came to the conclusion that this exam WAS difficult.

I was a retaker so if I didn't do well I have to wait until the new MCAT for my 3rd and final try. It will really suck since I'm already 26 but I know at the end of the day I will be a physician regardless of what my score is tomorrow. Hopefully that thought gives you all some comfort as well!

Wow, all you neurotic Floridians would take up all the test dates. Looks like I'll be chillin in hotlanta on January 10th if anyone wants to get obliterated 😀

I could have sworn I got an email after last year's test, similar to the email they sent out letting us know about the gift card.... course that hasn't stopped me from adding the link you shared with taco to my favorites so I can give my F5 button a workout tomorrow.

Edit: Yeah, I just logged in for the hell of it and saw my score from last year... had a small heart attack thinking it was this year's.

A fellow 8/7 MCATer anxiously awaiting tomorrow. So I checked the MCAT twitter page and the AAMC released the 8/2/14 MCAT scores around 12:15pm central time on the scheduled release day. Looks like we may be getting ours around then as well??

Either way GL to everyone!!

I took it 8/2...my score became available around 2pm CST... Good luck to all you 8/7 ers!!

Yeah it seems like the last 4 releases have been between 12-1 pm central (closer to 12 than 1)!

Wow what a long thread...and long wait...super anxious but glad it's almost over. Sleep perhaps? Yeah we'll see about that, I'm afraid my dreams will play cruel tricks on me
