107 days out! Who all is signed up to obliterate the MCAT August 7th?

I know it's a bit early but I searched and could not find another August 7th, 2014 MCAT thread! I am hoping that we can keep each other motivated this summer while studying...

I am starting a slightly modified SN2ed schedule May 7th.... slightly modified due to my incredible weakness with physics. I am not taking physics 2 before the MCAT and therefore will be self-teaching it.

Looking forward to hearing from some of y'all!

Here lies Inarticulation. He never scored above 26.

Before things get too tense I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to these 47 pages... I was a little late to the party but I'm glad I joined this thread. I felt better knowing other people were going through the same thing and whatnot. Seems like there are a lot of cool people on here who will all make great doctors someday.

Good luck everyone!

I'm very thankful that all of you are feeling exactly the same things as me.. its really hard because none of my friends/family understand.

Echoing this. I kinda hate these forums outside of this and maybe the non-trad forums because it's so overwhelming to be reading about 41s but this place is such a nice reprieve from all my friends saying "I'm sure you did great!"

did we come to a consensus on the time? Im reading several different things and hate to sit here pressing F5 for the next few hours!

also according to the AAMC twitter, the services contact is down from 1 to 4, does this mean their twitter is down?

I feel like at this point I've convinced myself of my failure so hard that as long as I don't dip below like 21 it won't be self-destruct mode.

how many people have a score in mind where they will resist the temptation to retake? also have any of you signed up for a re-take already?

Sure I do but I don't think there's any way I got near it. Even my practice MCATs weren't hitting 30 (highest 29). But since I'm DO-minded a 27 would probably push off my retake til January whereas the 23 I think I got would put me into November crunch time.

This is the exact email I got! This is killing me. I guess its safe to conclude at this point that I failed woefully. The question is how bad. Wow, goodbye med school dreams. Goodbye future profession. This is way too depressing right now

its better to be happily surprised than horribly disappointed if you ask me.

I keep seeing posts like this... Are the standards for DO lower or something? I've never done any research into that path at all, and it was my understanding that there's not too much difference between an MD and a DO these days.

it SEEMS that DO places a higher emphasis on GPA and less on the MCAT.

I'm a little late but just wanted to add to the spreadsheet yall are doing here...

I am predicting a 26 and my AAMC average was a 30.

I also want to thank all of you who have been posting! I have not been replying but have been reading this thread since taking the test and I really appreciate it!

DO requisites are much less obvious in how it reduces you to numbers. A lot of the websites like to say they look at you "holistically." It's all just another form of BS but in the end (and to be super reductive) your 28 at a DO school is like a 30 at MD.
