this^ @fldoctorgirl and in regards to ur anxiety about having PE for ranking-can confirm none of them are updated. You dont have to worry about PE at all hell i dont even have a date and I frankly dont care lmaoI wouldn't worry. Your 250+ board score and honors in 3rd year will have internal medicine PD's doing back flips for you to go to their program.

My all nighter paid off!!!! 117 on the IM comat. Now I’ve just got to hope my preceptor evaluates me well enough to qualify for honors (we don’t handle our own evals at my site - they all go through HR).
Is it really, really bad to re-use your med school headshots? Not asking for a friend. I don’t want to fork over any more money and I pretty much look the same - just a little fatter but still recognizable.

I’m redoing mine and getting a professional photographer for it. One shot at my top residency, and paying for a picture is just a drop in the bucket at this point so I might as well go all in and try to maximize my chances. My all nighter paid off!!!! 117 on the IM comat. lol
My school said today that we are getting a whole bunch of info about auditions for our class next week including more info about aways. They said they "intend to follow all recommendations" so if this 1 audition recommendation is mandated, I will not be happy since I need at least 2 auditions for 2 SLOEs for EM.

This but for me yesterday it was 26% and 60% lol
Really hope Comquest goes better
Anyone hear what the difficulty of actual Step 2 is compared to UW CK bank? LMAO Because I pray its easier than UW
I don’t know my percent correct on the real thing obviously, but I felt like on real Step 2 I was being forced to make a lot more 50/50 calls (where I narrowed down to 2) vs on Uworld I had more “I know this” or “I’m not sure maybe these 3 or 4”.Anyone hear what the difficulty of actual Step 2 is compared to UW CK bank? If it makes you feel better lol
How many questions per block? If it's 40 - then it should not fluctuate that much, but if it's 10-20 - then even couple wrong questions can tank the score. I'd just watch an average percentile trending up slowly - better indicator imho.View attachment 329340
If it makes you feel better lol
I never thought of it this way but its a great point. I usually do blocks of 20 which is one reason why my scores are all over the map. Sometimes ill pop a 75 and others a 48. For step 1 i never did blocks less than 40 and my score never fluctuated to the extent it does now but then again I only used UW for dedicated which would be a trainwreck if I waited to do the CK bank for dedicated with almost 4K questionsHow many questions per block? Guys I'm so so so so so dumb but im enjoying being dumb? Does this mean I like IM?
I think preclinical scarred me. Every day I go to my rotation, get my minimal work for the day done after (~40 mins of Anki, UWorld block, occasionally something stupid for school), and then constantly feel like I'm forgetting to do something or there must be more work. It's the weirdest thing. I literally sit and go through everything I did in my head and I'm like "...no, that's everything. you're good. stop it brain". But I can't shake the feeling. I'm ruined lol. It's so weird.
How the hell do you only have 40 min of anki? I am at 600 reviews a day, takes me two hours to do.I think preclinical scarred me. I agree with the sentiment though. If I am not constantly studying I get anxious.
I dunno? I didn't overload myself with cards. I do 50 new/day right now. The decks for rotations I've already had don't go above 50 reviews now, with some of them being like 15-20.How the hell do you only have 40 min of anki? I am at 600 reviews a day, takes me two hours to do.

wild. most of mine are around 50 ish except for surg (90-100) and IM (300) but I'm on IM right now. Maybe its because My electives are not till the last two months of the year idkI dunno? Lol at Uworld today: Hey here's pericarditis but the type without EKG changes, hey here's achalasia but with no bird beak sign.
Eat my butt Uworld

That's probably why. I took a month off news during an elective so it really helped bring things down.wild. most of mine are around 50 ish except for surg (90-100) and IM (300) but I'm on IM right now. Maybe its because My electives are not till the last two months of the year idk
Lol I have completely given up on keeping up with anything. Anki reviews haven't been done in weeks. My step 2 dedicated is going to be a ****show.
OB is eating me alive right now. I only thought four patients a day on IM was bad... on my preceptor's surgery days I'm expected to round on all his hospital patients, plus his surgical patients, and write notes and present on all of them. I have to be done with all my notes before he gets there because he wants to either sign them or discard them if my note was crap right when he gets there. He is discarding the vast majority of my notes LOL... feels pretty cruddy. It was eight patients on Wednesday, and he showed up at 7:30 AM. Let's just say it didn't go well and I underestimated (badly) the amount of time I would need to come up with adequate plans and write decent notes on eight patients.
Might have been easier if I'd had a surgery rotation beforehand, but I haven't, so I feel like a total ***** in the OR.

I feel you. I am having a hard time keeping up with everything, but I may also be a bit burnt our from surgery still. Fortunately, it's online rotations for me till boards.Lol I have completely given up on keeping up with anything. Anki reviews haven't been done in weeks. Oh, that's so awesome! I'm crazy jealous. I have four in-person, inpatient rotations left after this one, and two of them are surgery rotations.
Passed OMM COMAT. Lowest COMAT score thus far lol

114 on my surgery COMAT. I'm floored. I did all the UWorld and all the Anki cards and read through Pestana and it got me this. Highest so far. Was honestly expecting 105 or something like that as it felt similar to my OB exam in terms of difficulty.
Those are insane expectations.Lol I have completely given up on keeping up with anything. Anki reviews haven't been done in weeks. My step 2 dedicated is going to be a ****show.

Yes luckily my ObGyn was right after gen surg 1, because when I got there they just straight up expected you to already know wtf to do in the ORMight have been easier if I'd had a surgery rotation beforehand, but I haven't, so I feel like a total ***** in the OR.
PE cancelled!!!!!!!!
You mean I don't have to wear my gym shorts today?PE cancelled!!!!!!!!
nudist for life! You mean I don't have to wear my gym shorts today?
I mean....I feel like saying it's cancelled is the wrong thing? We don't know what they're going to come up with as the alternative. It may be just slightly modified.PE cancelled!!!!!!!!

Yea I'm not exactly celebrating until I know how long "indefinitely" is, what the alternative pathway is, and how much it will cost us.
I change my statement after seeing that they are cancelling and refunding people themselves. I doubt they'd do that otherwise. Byeeeee PEYea I'm not exactly celebrating until I know how long "indefinitely" is, what the alternative pathway is, and how much it will cost us.
Wait what? Just came from rotation and haven't even checked anything. Is PE really canceled?
Update: wow, I can't believe it, but it's postponed indefinitely. well, I can't complain. Here's hoping it'll never be back
First good thing since early 2020 lol.

VSAS is going to be the death of me. Says a program I want to go to will open electives for viewing/applying today. I've been excited all week. Wake up, log on....and there's nothing there at all!! Page hasn't changed. Ahhhhhh.

The good news I can give you is that KCU has been very good with uploading transcripts and what not. Mine were uploaded the day I submitted my apps so everything has been super speedy.
Now I wait.....
Damn IM Comquest is kinda hard. Lots of trick questions in the first 20 I did
Damn IM Comquest is kinda hard. Lots of trick questions in the first 20 I did
Lots of trick questions in the next 2000 of them as well, haha. Nothing humbles me quite like UW knows how to
Ugh facts right here. I’ve still got 300 left, next 10 days about to be a nightmareLots of trick questions in the next 2000 of them as well, haha. Nothing humbles me quite like UW knows how to
I don't know. I only did like 15% of the questions 1st pass before taking Step 2.How is it even possible to finish UW for step 2 during dedicated? 3800 questions and still growing. I'm done with 30% so far and hanging at 60% average, but I'm exhausted.
How’d you do on step 2?I don't know. I only did like 15% of the questions 1st pass before taking Step 2.
