The Official January 26th, 2013 MCAT Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I know I didn't kill it with a 40+ like some of you guys, I'm still in shock that I got a 31 though! (Way above my average)

a 32 is the median, according to the MSAR, of everyone accepted to medical school. A 9 is at the 10th percentile of most top-tier schools—I'd bet it's closer to the 20th percentile, in actuality. And that's for top-tier schools. A 12 BS is right at the median and 11 PS is right below. Apply broadly and throw in some top-tier choices, if the rest of your application is competitive. A 32 is a good score, congrats.

Wow! I came here excited to post my score as a first timer (11 VR, 12 PS, 15 BS- 38 total) and see every other post is a 37-39! DAMN GUYS. I really hope this is just an indication of how intense the people who post on this site are rather than the difficulty (or rather ease) of the test. Hopefully there is just a high percentage of the 98th percentile that post here, cuz otherwise my score seems far too commonplace in this context! 😉 Great job everyone!

LOL. It is well known that SDN is not a representative sample.

I would find it rather humorous if half of all test takers scored in the 98th percentile.🤣

BTW, congrats on the good score!

Sorry guys, I know this is somewhat of a dead thread, but I had a question.

I took the MCAT on this date (Jan 2013), and may need to apply to medical schools again next cycle if I don't get in this cycle. Will Jan 2013 MCATs still lbe accepted next cycle? Some schools say 3 years from applying, others say 3 years from matriculation, so I'm a little confused.

Thanks for any help!
