how have people been faring who thought they initially did terrible...? Because that's how I felt immediately after the test..
There were incidents where people say they felt horrible but ended up with a good score too. Basically everyone gets around FL AAMC average or above. Of course it depends on if you feel horrible because you were pretty sure you didnt know stuff, or you feel horrible because the test was weirdly annoying. I'm sure most people here can say a little about the BS being weird on this MCAT with the orgo thingnie.

Anyway, good luck!

I felt like I knew most stuff. Verbal, who knows...I usually score 10-11 (occasional 12) but this one just felt harder to me which makes me worried I did worse. PS was fine...hopefully a 10 there. BS, yeah it was hard. I had troubles with a lot of the orgo stuff which was very unfamiliar. Also the marathon passage was also difficult for me...I'm really hoping this doesnt result in like a 7 on BS. I really just don't know how I did/if any of the above were experimental....I've just got such an uneasy feeling.

It sounded like you'll be fine. I think it's hard to deviant from your normal verbal score. I once did verbal half drunk, still 11. always 11, regardless how awesome/horrible I felt. Only once somehow I got a 14, but that's the abnormal.PS was indeed not that hard, if you know most of the stuff, probably at least a 10. here is the thing with BS, it was not hard, it was just weird. So depending on how you reacted, it could be a little lower or even higher, you never know. Let's all have a drink and chill...

Nope. I'm so bored that I am actually excited for my pharmacology book to come in so I can read it while I wait. Anyone else feel like each day is getting SLOWER? :/

Saxappeal, I'm dying. Yanks, I felt horrible too. Following this thread has been a good distraction though. If I have to do this again I'm testing drunk. No question.

What do you guys think that PS scale will be like on this exam?
I am thinking 1 question for each point 15-12 and then 2 question 12-11 and 3 questions 11-9.
I am thinking the verbal will be bumped up since most people thought it was "ok"
And I have no clue what the BS will be because it seems like some people thought it was crazy hard and some thought it was ok.

I doubt PS will be that harsh.

I think PS will probably be like that with a 29-31 being an 8. Verbal I think will probably be somewhat like 26 - 8, 28 - 9. Bio I wouldn't be too surprised if it was borderline 26 being an 8.

I'm hoping the Bio scale is lenient, wouldnt be too shocked if there are alot of people here getting 10s despite feeling like they failed that section. A 36 was a 10 on AAMC 11, and i honestly felt this bio section was much more difficult than that one.

Female friendly house, I understand what you are trying to say,I really do. But, please try to refrain from referring to a 34 as "disappointing." I understand that personally that might be low for you, but there are a LOT of people who think a 34 is a great, great score. You could be frustrating a lot of people on here by saying such a thing. Just saying.

...who cares? People have different expectations. So does that mean if I'm shooting for a high 30 I shouldn't post here?

No, I'm saying to be more tactful when saying that you would be disappointed with a 34 because a lot of people might be embarrassed about their much lower scores. I'm not saying not to post or not to say you wouldn't personally be disappointed with a 34, but maybe not include the sighing type comment, no disrespect intended.

I think what Saxappeal means is to keep in mind the purpose of this Thread. It's a place for support.

You're absolutely correct, everyone has a different score that they are shooting for/are capable of achieving at this time. That being said, I personally don't think anyone can be of "support" to someone who is upset that they may get a 34. The only thing that can be said is WOW you are amazing. And that's cool...if that's what you're looking for then by all means post your score and we'll high five you for it! But don't phrase it as a negative thing you're struggling with because you can't estimate correctly what your score will be. Many people here, myself included, dream about a 39 average and would be pretty content - to say the least - with a 34. We might try again to see if we can get a higher score, but I would definitely either not post or post with a genuine interest in sharing with my support team(you guys) an achievement.

I have diagnosed myself to have MCAT Score Estimation Bipolar Disorder. Only in the most inner circle of my mind, I think I could even do better than my average (39), but then most of the time, I feel like I can see a 34 vividly...so much head shaking and sighing and involuntary eye rolling. One night I dreamed that I messed up a verbal pretty bad, only to realize when I woke up that it wasn't one of the passage on my real MCAT.

I definitely did some involuntary eye rolling just now.

This seems incredibly optimistic in my opinion. But perhaps you know more than I do...any basis for these guesses?

I mean when I took AAMC 9 a 32-35 was a 9 for PS. 28 is commonly a 8 and 29 a 9. And well, I'm inclined to think BS will be severely inflated.

I must have remebered the scales incorrectly. Though did you find AAMC 9 PS harder than the 6/21 test? PS seemed to be the easiest section of the three we took that day.

I'm aware that 28 is normally an 8 in verbal...did you think the 6/21 VR was significantly harder that an 8 would be a 26? It seemed harder than any other AAMC test (which I average 10-12 on)...but I feel like it was moreso me screwing things up than the actual test being harder.

BS agree, that was the hardest BS i've ever seen..by far. God I hope a 28/29 is a 9...

I think it was harder, but whether that has a major effect on the scoring is debatable. Verbal was in my opinion the easiest section of the test however so I think that a 28 would probably be an 8.

BS I honestly cannot compare to anything. I literally choked up half way through the test and in all likelihood that should have been an indicator that I needed to void. But I decided to score because I am an idiot.

starting to get a little nervous waiting for it. Havent looked at anythign MCAT sicne I took the test and wondering if i should start just in case I do need to retake.
What have you guys been doing? Also getting ready to turn in my app, should be in within this weekend and then need to add scores and LOR when theyre done

I'm writing again on the 24th...my plan was to not look at my score before writing since its two days before my exam. But as the day approaches I'm starting to doubt my ability to do that 🤔

Why are you retaking? Did you really think it went that badly? I think you should check your score; you might've done way better than you think!

I did fine content wise but I was horrible for timing. I ran out of time for every section. Meaning I guessed on at least one passage on each section...sooo you be the judge.

What if you got a decent score on the 21st? Wouldn't you want to know? Then you could void your new MCAT if it doesn't feel amazing.
You have my respect either way, it must have been rough to take it last month and then immediately start studying for a retake. That takes willpower. Good luck!

Thanks! It was really difficult...especially because I felt very discouraged having ran out of time in such an embarrassing way. Also my test day was far from idea as the location we were at messed up and I ended up beginning my 8am exam at 11:30AM..hungry...grumpy...and tired.

\o/ Got the gift card! I had the psych/sociology section, got 56% right, which put me in the top quarter.

I think i had socio. Not really sure how I got 50% putting me in the top quarter. I was definitely drained by the time I took that trial section and I didn't take socio/psych lol. still wouldn't want to take mcat 2015 lol Grateful for the card. Praying God does some miraculous wonders for all of us on the 22nd

65% on the biochem trial section putting me in the top 25%. I'd be interested to see the range of scores for these sections and I also feel sorry for the suckers who will be taking the 2015 mcat.

56% on psych and social. Top Q. Never took anything related, just used common sense. Wish I got biochem though. I felt solid on that and could really have fun.

59% on biochem, top quarter. I feel stupid, having just finished a year of biochem, lol. I definitely feel sorry for anyone taking the 2015. I think the reason you only need scores in the 50s to get top Q is because so many kids don't put forth a good-faith effort, despite the agreement...they just randomly click answers, at least that's what my group seemed to be doing, judging by how quickly they got out (unless none of them even wanted the extra $30...?)

Hey guys I have been following this blog for a while now but just decided to make a username. I guessed almost entirely on the trial section and only got 22% correct for the psych/soc section. That still got me a gift card somehow! Props to the people scoring 50%+ I do not know how you had the energy to take that section seriously especially after our bio section...
