You know, I see a background check thing if I search through the portal thing, but it's not listed under the "to do" section for new students.... I only see things like new transcript update, required health immunizations, etc. But nothing about a background check.. Weird.
 
I was called my Marlise on 12/14 and was accepted! Can't wait!
 
I was also called on Friday the 14th, but by Esther.

Can anyone tell me what the interview process is like and what kind of questions they ask? My interview is on 1/8 and I just want to get a better idea... This is my first time applying to dental school. I also heard that there's a short essay to write before you get there????
 
Most of the questions revolve around you, your lifestyle, and your famly. They will throw in the odd dental related question or two. Just be yourself and you'll do fine.
 
Yeah, there's a short hand-written essay to write when you first get there. They give you two questions and you pick one to write about. My essay was only 2-3 paragraphs long so it's nothing to worry about; just make a thoughtful and concise answer.

Hey swroxmysox1138! Sorry if this is very last minute but I just wanted to tell you about the interview. The 2 essay questions I had an option to write on were about "Describing your current support group and their impact" or "Naming qualities in a Dentist or Dental Hygenist that I find important and influential and why."

As far as the interview, the questions were very typical: "why dentistry? Why LLU? Greatest accomplishment?" and we went throught my application. The only question that took me a pause to think of was "tell me about an ethical dilemma." The question was general and could have been about dentistry or not and I answered in regards to a personal experience in dentistry. I hope this helps! Best of luck!

Got called by Marlise on the 14th as well 🙂 Time to start collecting teeth before I move down there lol
 
looks like about half the class is filled up now! do we really need to collect teeth? or can we just buy them there...

go to OS office or some generals will collect em for students. just ask around
 
Drop off a jar with a 1 to 10 bleach/water mixture with your name on it at any office that agrees to do it for you.

anyone hear anything yesterday? I heard that admissions met yesterday...
 
it looks like at least 64 people have put down their deposit
 
I called earlier this weeks and the lady in admissions said he wasn't allowed to tell me when the next committee met. I interviewed a week after dec 3.
 
I am not sure when the acceptances are being made..I just know that they met on the 15th
 
I haven't heard ANYTHING lol I don't understand how Loma Linda's admissions team operates

I know that RC is super important for LLU. Has anyone gotten in with a 19? Or do you need to have like 21+?? Thanks
 
I was interviewed in september and still haven't heard back from them! 🙁 Is there any Canadian here who got accepted at LLUSD?

Hi. I actually got in with an 18 in RC (brain stopped working after the sciences/break). Didn't want to retake.

Also not sda. But christian and a reapplicant (interviewed there last cycle, then put on the alternate list).

got placed into alternate list today via email... anyone else? does anyone happen to know how many lucky people get pulled out of waitlist into acceptance?
