Likewise on "HOLD." I'll assume this is a positive status change, because it's not an official rejection. I'm curious to know what the success rate is of getting off "HOLD" to interview.
 
Just got waitlisted.. does everyone who had an interview but did not receive an offer get waitlisted or only selected people are waitlisted?
 
Congrats folks! I am currently attending Marquette University School of Dentistry Class 2016. It is an amazing place and I love that I go here. If you have any other questions about it you can message me. They are building a new wing to the school and I see it developing every day. It is hard but exciting all the same. If you are not a science major I would make sure you make good use of your time before school starts and broaden your understanding of the sciences. Cheers! and Congrats!
 
Waitlisted here too.... and I'm a resident. Does anyone have any ideas about the expansion? Do you guys think the 20 students after the expansion (hopefully done for the class of 2017) will be half in half out??
 
Put on hold as well. At least its not a rejection yet!

During my interview they did say that if they do accept more students due to the expansion they will split it half and half for in-state and out of state. They said they may accept 100 people December 1st though in hopes of it being ready. Has anyone contacted the school to find out how many people they accepted?
 
So what other OOS students are committing to Marquette? Anyone planning on visiting Milwaukee again before moving there?
 
so previously, my aadsas portal said "waitlisted"... just checked it and it says "offer made".

I don't want to jump to conclusions but... is that good???

Hello. Thank you for your positive input about the school!

I have received this e-mail from Marquette 1 1/2 week ago, what is your impression about it: "The Committee has decided to “HOLD” making a decision on your application at this time in the process..."

I visited with the director of admission last Summer 2012 and liked my experience and background. So far, I have sent three e-mails (two weeks appart from eachother) letting them know that I am very interested in their program. Any suggestions?

Yes, I am wondering the same about post-Dec interviews! I am still on HOLD. What about you?....and/or any others in the same situation.
 
Has anyone been accepted into the Marquette's PESP? I have not seen any threads on the subject. I hope to get many replies...well, at least 10 🙄
 
I was put on hold too, I wonder what the chances are of us getting an interview.
 
just curious as to what messages you guys have received in your aadsas. had my interview and have been put on hold but i got a message in aadsas that reads: "Your file is complete. Your application has been reviewed. You have been interviewed by the Committee. Your file is currently on "hold" but is in a group of files that will receive serious consideration for any spaces that may still be available in January and beyond."

did all those who were interviewed receive this message?

To be completely honest, I am not really sure what the admissions office is doing. I am more so on here so that people that are having trouble deciding if they should come to Marquette or not have someone to ask final questions to that they didn't think of asking during their interview. If you are still wondering about your admissions question, or if anyone has any questions about MUSoD please send me a private message. This is because when someone sends me a SDN message then SDN notifies me that someone has a question. I don't really check SDN thread posts that often. Best of luck everyone...

I got an email from Brian this morning. I got accepted from the waitlist!!!!

Wow, we are on the same boat as far as scores goes, but definitely your boat had more to offer 🙂 . I have not had an interview yet, but have been put ON HOLD, so I don't really know home much hopeful I should feel about that status.

Do you know if they are having another batch of interviews for the upcoming months?

What stats do I need to get in? I will be going to either UW-Oshkosh or UW-La Crosse. Will something like a 3.5 overall and 3.5 science gpa with an average DAT be good enough along with a lot of volunteer hours and showing hours or would I need better stats? Thanks!

I was accepted this cycle with very similar stats!! It's possible just keep it up 🙂

I think you are good to go, just make sure that your DAT sore is at least average, if not higher. You'll be fine! 👍

At Marquette, GPA hands down trumps the DAT. I was told this directly by the admissions director at my interview. Though there is a chance he was just trying to fluster me since I have a high DAT and a modest GPA, he flat out said my high DAT didn't mean much to him. In his opinion its too easy to game the test. Not sure I agree with the viewpoint, but its good to know what they are looking for there.

My application was put on hold on Dec. 3rd and I was wondering if there was any insight to the interview situation? I called a month ago and was told that they were still in the decision making process for expanding the class and that more interviews should be release for/in February. I know Marquette usually starts and finishes the process early, but I figured I would have a good shot at a post-Dec. interview after being put on hold and not rejected. Are they pretty much done or is there still a chance? I have a deposit down at UMB, but Marquette was always one of my top choices along with Tufts and UMB and I really would love the chance to interview! Any news would be much appreciated.
 
I regretfully dropped my spot in the class yesterday, hope this turns into good news for one of you waitlisted OOS'ers!
 
Have already the mid Feb interviews for PESP slots happened? I am hopping that even after this batch of interviews, some people will still drop 😱 I know, I am waiting for a miracle, but I also know that many like me are as well. One never knows. 👍

I guess many are hopping for the same, but if I were you I'll be happy with the I acceptances I have, and gratefull that I could pull out paying for a deposit. For what is worth, congratulations and enjoy the beginning of the dream!! 🙂

I decided on my state a school, the price difference was too big to ignore. Had they been equal in price, I would be going to Marquette in a heartbeat.
 
So Marquette will have 100 seats, 50 in state and 50 out of state, from next year onwards?
 
Anybody else on the waiting list get the alternate pool offer where we have to pay the $1000 deposit to be considered for any future spots that come available? Wondering how big this pool is.
 
I got the email this morning as well that I was placed in the alternate pool. Anyone have info on how many people actually get accepted from the list?
 
I was put in the alternate pool for the second straight year. Pretty much no chance that in-state spots open up, but maybe some oos spots will. I am going to attend another school.

They take 80 students. This year however, they are accepting 100 due to the expansion of their faxilities. That is a very exciting news for current students and future ones! 👍 👍

Hey! I was accepted into PESP. I was the first alternate into PESP and they called me 2 weeks ago to tell me they had a spot for me.

Does anyone know exactly how heavy the course load is during PESP??

Yea, the PESP interviews already happened. They interviewed double the amount of people they needed. So the ones who weren't initially accepted were put on a PESP alternate list in case anyone drops out. I think there are 4 in total on that alternate list and 8 in PESP.

Congrats in the acceptance! I am applying this cycle. I have a really good application, but my DAT is not as good - AA 16. I hope you don't mind me asking a few questions: what are the qualification to get into the PESP program? What were your stats? Thanks in advanced 👍
