I think many of you will agree that today is a great day to officially prepare for the May 22nd MCAT!!!

I was against the April 2015 MCAT because a typical 3 month schedule doesn't seem to work for
students and/or working test takers. With a little over 4 months of preparation we can go in with confidence!
It's all new and really scary--so let's kick MCAT butt together!!

I was also wondering, wouldn't many professional MCAT test takers and tutors want to take the MCAT 2015 as soon
as possible (April MCAT) so they can better they're material or teaching? Wouldn't that just destroy the curve?

Speaking of which how do you guys feel when you get rejected by a school that is less prestigious or lower on your list than a school you have been accepted to?
Me. I try to shrug it off o,k, but I do feel it a little in the ego.

I feel like the whole process is broken and it's sad that a profession that affects people's lives so profoundly is left up to luck and other influences (like who you know). I am someone who is very hard on themselves but I don't feel one bit like it was me when I get a rejection.

Hope all are having a great holiday. My time has been spent explaining why I don't know where I am going to school and why I can't get into a good school. This from people that didn't graduate college.

Luckily I got all of the med school questions out of the way on Thanksgiving. So the only comments I got were people calling me "Dr. *my name*" all night.

Anyone get any cool gifts?

I got a BB8, which is so cute, like having a pet and tons of stuff I need for living alone. A grown up Christmas. Did tou get your vacation?

Ahhh I'm so jealous of the BB8! I saw them at Brookstone, so cute.
I didn't get a vacation, although I did get a GoPro Hero 4 which makes me even more desperate to take a vacation lol. Also got Hawks tickets, play tickets, exercise clothes, and North Face E tip gloves. Pretty good haul this year 😛 Oh, and I got Star Wars themed tumblers in our family white elephant!

i know its too early to know where you will end up but have you guys looked at housing and stuff? Currently leaning towards just getting a studio for the first year instead of random roommates

Lol I was looking at housing in Cincinnati within about an hour after being put on hold at Case. I still haven't decided about the roommate thing though. I want to live alone but I have a tendency to socially isolate myself so I think living with roommates might be best.

I think a lot of med schools have buildings with a lot of med students, so ideally I would have a lot of classmates for neighbors. idk I just want to try living alone at least for a year of my life 😛

I've been planning my backpacking trip through Europe for about two hours now and I'm already overwhelmed. This is so complicated.

I started looking into housing in L.A. as soon as I got my Keck acceptance. I am looking hard at applying for the dorms they are opening . I started looking at options in Chicago as well. Most UIC students apparently live in little Italy which would be cool.

The one thing I have started looking hard at is getting a car. I have been window shopping on cars.com a lot lately.

****. I just realized that if I want to go on a trip this summer, I'm not going to be able to learn to drive then. So I'm going to have to do it like right now. I am not mentally prepared for this, I'm so scared. 🙁

At the moment Keck.
I will try to go to both second look days though.
Its a tough choice they have a lot of the same pluses and minuses. Both have big county hospitals that give you plenty of experience However, both are on the more expensive part of the spectrum.

Mine has just been an unhealthy amount of food as I've spent it in Texas. Haha
But now as I go back home, I don't have to go back to work until the 5th, so I'm just hanging out.

Oh yea I seriously doubt it is too. Since if it were someone from it, I think they'd have had enough experience on SDN to know where they stood with that mistake.

LOL JK. What an idiot. Normally I don't feel bad for cheaters but I just keep imagining what that kid must have felt like when he got caught, and my stomach sinks just thinking about it.

Exercise daily, make and implement a plan to eat healthier, and hopefully lose ten pounds. Also, this is something I've already been trying to do, but I want to focus on living in and appreciating the present rather than constantly anticipating the future, if that makes sense.
