Hey, I had an interview on the same day with you. During our talk with the dean, he mentioned that they might or might not have a committee meeting before Dec 2 because of Thanksgiving week.
Therefore, your information might be true... or I am hopping it would be true... I did not get a call or snail mail or email or ADDSAS update, also.

I interviewed on November 20th and didn't hear back ??!? Anyone else in a similar position? I remember during my interview I was told we only have to wait 12 days till the big day but nothing happened on the big day?

Ive been studying last years thread and it seems like if you interviewed near the end of november and close to holidays you dont hear anything or see any update on aadsas before like early january. Maybe this years different who knows,,,,, best way to find out is to call.

Same here. I interviewed November 20th and Nova doesn't even show up on my "School Decisions" tab.
 
It's truly killing me. I just want to know whether I am rejected or wait listed.
I haven't eaten anything last 3 days. I just lost 12lbs. This is the worst time in my life.

I think you need to eat something and relax a little bit. Im right there with ya... i have no idea what the future has in store for me at this point, but all you can do is be patient. I have a friend who graduated from Nova a couple years ago, he didn't interview until january and he still managed to get in. I think in our case.. it seems like they didn't have a final decision ready for us by the 2nd... that doesn't mean anything bad, it just mean thats the hand we were dealt. Take it easy buddy, and the time will pass faster.

Have you tried to contact them to ask about your status yet? I interviewed there on Nov 15th and was waitlisted there so I called them to get more info about the waitlist process. If you really wanted to know your status, def. call them. Good luck!
 
so what info did you get about the wait list? does everyone get placed on the high hold wait list and what are the chances of receiving an acceptance from the list?

Also, what is in the acceptance packet? I don't go home and view mine until next thursday...

Curious about the samething. I really don't want to spend a ton of money flying there only to get a waitlist / rejection. Without a chance at straight acceptance. Going on the 12th. You?

If you're talking about the pre registration fee and acceptance fees, yeah i did notice.

I the acceptance packet, there's just an acceptance letter, a letter with the conditions (I'm missing some pre req, so it says I need to complete them and get my bachelor) and a letter on how to pay the fees.
 
Anybody know if the class is filled and post-Dec interviewees are auto-waitlisted?

I think they were trying to fill the class by december, so maybe all post dec are for the wait list. However, it seems that a lot of people are considering withdrawing their acceptances from nova, so there's still hope

I was wondering if anyone else has an interview on December 11.
I will arrive in Fort Lauderdale on December 10th, so let me know if anyone is down to meet up and maybe grab dinner/drink before our interview.

all dental schools are trying to fill their spots as quickly as possible though. People are going to get into other dental schools that they would rather go to and turn down the acceptance.

still don't have an update on my portal, by the way. nova still isn't showing (i interviewed nov. 21).

Any of the Nov 20-22 interviewees hear anything back at all?
 
Anybody got their AADSAS status updated to "Wait Listed" on Dec. 2 but has not received a letter in the mail yet?
 
When I interviewed here the first week of December, they said we should expect to hear back from them on January 3rd. So I guess we just have to wait :penguin:

hey guys, so i was just wondering if any of you know what the current clinical situation is like at nova? I was too worried about making a good impression at the interview to really figure out if the problems with nova's clinics are solved. Did any of you ask current students about the clinic and if students are finishing their requirements on time? I am torn between choosing nova and case western. I would love to choose nova (great location) but only if the clinic problems are no longer an issue...

Hey changedude! I heard that if you don't mess around and get a lot of stuff done during 3rd year and possibly find a buddy, you should be fine and relaxed 4th year. Appearantly the problems were in getting patients to show up and meeting endo requirements but they have seemed to fix all of that with rotations.

Yes, it does seem that the chair problems are resolved. When I interviewed, they obviously said that the problem has been resolved for a while now. However, I know some patients who did have to wait 3-4 months to get off the wait list, so everything seems to be clear imo.
 
Any news as to when we might have another round of acceptances?.... When are the fees due for those accepted on Dec 2?


Edit: Ahh, seems like it might be jan 3rd

Yesterday was the deadline for the acceptance fee, so I'm assuming you should hear something by next week.

^^ I've interviewed there twice. I interviewed with Dr. Keller and Dr. Schweizer. Honestly, the folks at Nova are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They wont grill you, they just want to chat and get to know you. They didnt ask me why i want to be a dentist or why i want to go to Nova. They asked me about my job, my family, my talents. Dr. Keller even took the time to call somesome in the middle of the interview to get the name of a restaurant for me. I know its easier said than done, but just relax and be yourself.

I second the kind interview! I was extremely nervous because it was my first interview at my top choice, but once I got into the room with Dr. Lippman, it totally went away. It was a really great experience. They kind of let the school atmosphere speak for itself in terms of "could you see yourself here for the next 4 years". Good Luck! :luck:

Nope on both...Nova never appeared on my "School Decisions" tab.
I didn't get any kind of an acceptance email either but Dr. Lippman said an acceptance package will be mailed out early next week!
 
@cherryberry I interviewed on the same day with you! I remember I had a brief conversation with a person from Canada. I haven't heard back from NOVA at all thou.
 
For those that get the call for acceptance, would it be possible to ask if the class is almost full?

I haven't fully made up my mind between Nova and UDM yet...! I loved both schools but I'm swaying slightly towards Nova because I'm sick of the weather here in Canada...=P

@CWL I remember there was 2 of us there that day! I'm the girl from the West Coast 🙂 And don't worry he did call around 5pm Florida time so he might not have gotten to all the students that day, I'm sure you'll hear some news this coming week. Good luck!
