***The Official NYU Class of 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

I live in NYC and got it in the mail today. No scholarship stuff in there.
Yeah, same here. No sign of scholarship information anywhere... what are the chances of an accepted applicant to get a scholarship at this point? That would be a huge blessing.

Btw, in the packet, they mentioned something about having to satisfactorily pass classes in the same high standards that they accepted us with, wth does that mean? Lol, I'm hoping that means we can get by with at least a C, right?! Because I've slacked off a lot this semester. :nailbiting:

Did anyone get rejected without an interview.

I think I was wrong about the Facebook group, I found one but it was full of Class of 2018 people even though in the title it said "Class of 2019"

I think that's because D1-D4s like to join too lol but I think the 2019 class page on FB is the correct one. I'll post the link in my next post.. have to look for it again

got the packet in the mail. no mention of any scholarships. I hope they send it to us before the deadline

Yeah they're right about the facebook group, I had the same thoughts too lol. It's the right one though but more than half of it is the class of 2018 so they can help us out. I'd kind of prefer if the group was more class of 2019 people but hey the more the merrier !

the chances are pretty high i would say, since scholarships haven't been sent out yet.

We were told during the interview that 9 out of 10 people wait listed will get a seat. But the Dean of Admissions said that we have to show we are still interested. Does that mean a phone call? Cause I really don't want to annoy them because I bet they get a high volume of calls. And April is a long time to wait.

Definitely call. If they told you that you need to express interest, then you need to call and/or send an email and make sure that they know to keep you up for consideration.

Congrats to everyone on their acceptances. I interviewed here today after a tough week so far, and I really fell in love with this school. The students on the tour were SO helpful and willing to answer all our questions, Dr. Mejia was very honest about the school. Hoping and praying I can join the NYU acceptance club with all of you! Good luck to all who still have interviews!

... so does anyone know what the minimum grade is that we need in order to keep our acceptance?

Does NYU keep interviewing into the spring?

Congrats everyone! I also got accepted. I have one concern however: I don't know how you would proceed to find an apartment near campus and roommates. Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate the help. Thanks 🙂
I'm from California.

I'm sure once the facebook page opens up, you could start looking around for roommates.

Congrats to those who got accepted~ I am just waiting for the interview on Jan.

Hi everyone i have a question to people who have been in a situation such as me. I am a reapplication. Last year i got an 18AA and this year i got a 19AA and my GPA is 3.32 and non science is 3.75. I was not rejected from NYU this year yet and i am still waiting for maybe an interview. I called NYU Monday and they said my application is still under review. I really want to go there. I was wondering if you think it would be a good idea to write to Dr. Mejia from NYU, i read everyone seems to write to her about how interested they are in NYU if they are waitlisted. Even though i am not waitlisted or had an interview invite yet do you think i should still email her showing interest in NYU and how much i really want to be a dentist? Thank you.

Yes. They love it when students show interest in their program. I suggest you write a letter of interest and send it to the admissions office and ask them to forward it to Dr. Mejia. They didn't give me her email address so we'll have to do it that way. So try this. Hopefully you will get an interview. 🙂

I'm in the same boat as you. Try emailing them. Calling often may be annoying. Up to you though. Good luck 🙂

Anyone else wrestling between this and buffalo? especially those that live in the city and would commute.
I'm on the same boat as you... weighing the pros and cons

Guys, make up our page on facebook!!!!!!! Somebody!!! Anybody!!!

You were supposed to send the thank you email to the professor that interviewed you. It shows interest and they make a note of it on your file.

Accepted Dec. 1st, my only pre-dec interview. Most likely headed here, but we'll see how my post-dec interview goes. If I do end up going here, you'll be able to easily identify me as your classmate who lives on a bench in Madison Square Park. I was looking at rent for apartments in Peter Cooper Village last night...absolutely insane.

Can we be roomates? I'll share the bench. I also was looking and wanted to cry.. But I absolutely loved this school.

Where is the acceptance package?! Still nothing yet..

Throw in a pillow and 30 minutes per day of bathroom time and you've got a deal

Try looking into Jersey city, some pretty cheap rents out there, but the area is a little sketchy. I live in NYC but that'd be my go to if I didn't. The commute from Queens can be a killer as well, I'd say even worse than close apartments to the PATH. Also be on the lookout for express buses! I'm in Staten Island and it'd take me 45min to get to NYUCD and the stop is literally within throwing distance from my stoop.

Deal. Just as long as you're not messy. I can't deal with a cluttered bench. Seriously though Brooklyn seems like the place. As long as you don't mind packs of roving hipsters, rent is more manageable, and the commute isn't bad if you can find a place near the L train.

I thought it said in the mailed info that those offers (if any) will be determined after FAFSA is completely AFTER january 1st, 2015. How large are the scholarships?

Congrats everyone on your acceptance! I interviewed there this week and I absolutely love the staffs, student tour guides and of course Dr. Mejia! Now, I am still waiting anxiously to hear back from NYU !!
