Congrats! Were you accepted off the waitlist or just after an interview? May I ask when you interviewed and what your stats are?
 
I want to add, I live in Indiana so Dr. Mejia said she wanted to offer me a spot sooner than later to give me time to get things ready. So the waitlist is moving, don't give up!!! I was going to start my masters program applications this weekend.
 
For those of you that got the acceptance call was the number a (212) number or was the number blocked? Thanks in advance

what number you guys called to talk directly to Dr. Mejia, especially those who get off the waiting list?
 
are we supposed to do anything after we set up the email account, it said we should get something this week right?
 
Just got an email this morning that I was waitlisted. This is jus devastating, only two interviews this cycle and both waitlisted.... I sent a thank you letter to my interviewer, I called NYU to tell them how they were my #1 choice and STILL it meant nothing.

First off, GO RAMS!!

Secondly, I know WL isn't ideal, but it's better than rejection. So, there is still hope!

Lastly, at what point in the application process did you call the school? I'm on pins and needles waiting to hear back from another school and I've been thinking about reaching out, but don't know what to say or how to go about it. Advice?

Don't give up just yet, Eddard of House Stark. I heard NYU's wait list moves quite a bit due to the cost of attendance. I interview this coming Monday. Any tips?

I'm sorry to hear, but definitely keep your chin up. Call Dr. Mejia personally and let her know why you love NYU and what you can bring to the class. They definitely will be taking people off the waitlist so make it known that you want to be there. Best of luck!

Where did you get the instructions about setting up the email? Is it in the package they sent? Thx
 
After a very long wait... a miracle happened, and i got an acceptance call just this week as well! NYU has always been my dream school, so I could not be happier. For those who are still waiting: please don't give up just yet. I was so close to giving up and to start getting ready for my back up options when I got the call. You never know what's coming!!! This process does suck though.. Objectively... So cheers to all of us. 🙂

Congratulations to all the recent acceptances! One question tho.. has anyone gotten the email about next steps to admission but did not get an email about setting up your netID/account? I emailed admissions yesterday and I guess I'll have to wait until next week to hopefully get a response. It seems like many students already got to set up an account.

Sorry for the late reply, took some time away from SDN and was trying not to think about dental school the last couple of days. Well I first e-mailed NYU an update on my application February 17th that was strictly non-academic as I graduated back in May 2014. I called them the next day to confirm my application update had been received and next night I received my interview invite. I feel like that's a good way to keep in touch with them and hopefully try and get an interview. They like students who make efforts like calling/emailing that shows high interest in the school.

As I said above sorry for not getting back to you! Seeing as you're probably just getting out of the interview I'm sure you realized it was pretty chill! Very natural conversation, I stressed out so much the night before but was so comfortable once we got talking because my interviewer was so nice.

Thanks for the reply. It was very chill although my interviewer was foreign and somewhat hard to get across what I was trying to say. There were a couple times where there was a few seconds pause where we were just looking at each other. I think it went well though......I hope :/ Loved the school though and will definitely send a thank you email to him and interest email to mejia.
 
To the girl at my interview from Brooklyn who lives right next to Coney Island: Katz's Deli was ridiculous!! That reuben was bomb!

you and few others who got calls give me hope, but I can't help but feel devastated that I did not get in anywhere yet. I know we all said "1 school is all it takes" and it feels as if though it's so hard to get that 1 acceptance, no matter what you do.

I am slowly thinking about re-applying next cycle. It kills me to think that I will be wasting another year not in dental school.

I've been trying to stay away from SDN too. It's just stressful just thinking about the application process.
I am gonna lose all my hair. I am gonna be a bald dentist.

I know it's hard.. I was in your shoes for a while but I finally got that acceptance. I can guarantee there will be a lot of movement off the Waitlist very shortly considering our second deposits (3500$!!) are due next week! Stay positive!!
 
Yes! Please don't give up!! The second deposit is due 03/27, and it is not cheap. I feel like there must be a significant number of people giving up their acceptances by then. Good luck!!!

They sent me an email yesterday about setting up an nyu account and nyu gmail, which from once you set up yours, they will be communicating with you through there. I think they're doing it in batches so you will be getting this soon!

Anyone here that was at the interview yesterday? What'd you think?

PS If anyone like ramen then you must go to Ipuddo NY on 4th Ave steps south of 10th St. Ridiculous! Long wait but totally worth it. Also hit up Momofuku Milk Bar on 56th St between 6th and 5th Ave and get the crack pie.
 
If you are picked off the waitlist do they email or call you? I can imagine with my luck I would miss a call!
