***The Official NYU Class of 2020 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

I was late in the process but I had an interview recently. I am so interested in NYU that I want to increase my chances of getting in. I would love to live in NYC and get one of the best clinical exposures in dental school. When talking to people, they just said to continue to show interest but to who? The admissions officer? Dr. Mejia?

I loved my interview, seeing the school, clinic, how happy the students were there, I was taken back. I was excited going into the Q&A to meet Dr.Mejia since I've been in contact with her. We got their director who sounded like nails on a chalkboard when she spoke, nice but must I was excited to meet Dr.Mejia. You can always reach out to her to express interest. I know she takes time to answer but, when she does she is helpful.

Invited to interview here today. Does anyone know how full the class is at this point?
 
Does anyone know how long they take to contact you following the interview ???

I just received an email regarding the waitlist. Have you received that also ?

The email just asked to reply if I was still interested in attending or not.

Let's just say, if there are choices to go to a smaller school vs. NYU. I highly suggest that you take it! Not to mention the high tuition cost that NYU offer, lol. On top of that, living in NYC isn't doing your wallet a favor, either.

No I did't get the email.. hmm I got waitlisted on early Feb. when did u get waitlisted?

I also got that email, i was waitlisted early December. What do you think it means?
 
Hey guys I was waitlisted today. I'm wondering what do you guys think the best way of contacting them and letting them know I'm interested would be? Should I email the admissions email or do you think emailing the staff member I interviewed with would be better?

Yes I was also waitlisted Dec. 1st. Hopefully it's a good sign!

Have you been showing interest by contacting the school these past few months?
I was also waitlisted but I did not get this email. However, I have been in contact with them so I would imagine this email would be unnecessary

Yes. I've been in contact with them. About every 2-3 weeks

Hey my friend just wondering when did you interview???
 
Interviewed last week and got wait listed. Really bummed. How long should I wait to contact them to show interest?

I just found Dr. Mejia's email about my waiting list status in the spam this morning......It was sent like 5 days ago....
Then I shoot back an email showing interesting to the school with explanation of the spam issue immediately, but forgot to put the title.😢
Hope the temporary ******ation can be forgiven.
If not......OMG.....

Email Dr. Mejia seems to be what people do from what I've seen on this site lol

I vaguely recall Dr. M stating that they interview until the first week of March. But judging by last year year's thread, interviews have been given late into March
 
Seems like those who who have had their interview on the 25th and before have heard back regarding their status. I assume the interviewees from the 26 th and on will hear back starting Monday
 
Everyone that received the waitlist follow up email: did you emails say this "If you remain interested in attending NYUCD and would be able to join the Class of 2020 starting in August, we are requesting that you communicate your continued interest to us as well as forward an unofficial copy of your academic updates (if applicable) via email to [email protected]."?
 
Interviewed 2/24, waitlisted 3/4 6am pst. Waitlist follow sent at 3pm pst. wut.
 
Do you guys mind sharing your stats people who got waitlisted and/or accepted??

I stayed at Ramada for 100$ a night, and walked to the school on the day of my interview. It was a nice comfortable room. you could definitely find cheaper places in city, but you might have to take the bus or taxi to the school :/
 
Is there some sort of confirmation so we know they got our deposits? I sent my first portion in last week

I got a confirmation email about a week after I sent my deposit in.

Just the first portion and the email was specifically in regards to the first deposit too. You should give them a call on Monday if you don't get the confirmation email then.

You can also call to confirm your deposit, but they should've sent you an email. I sent mine Express on a Friday, they sent me a confirmation email on the following Monday.

I mailed mine on March 2 just through regular postal services so I will most likely call tomorrow if I don't hear anything. Thank you

If you just used First Class/snail mail it might take up to a week, depending on where you're located.
 
I interviewed on the 25th and haven't heard anything yet. Should I call them or is it too soon?

I interviewed on Feb. 23rd, got the acceptance email on Friday morning around 8:15am. Still waiting on the acceptance pckg in the mail, anyone know how long that takes to arrive?
