I have seen September 1' and September 7 but no 6!. So i figured I'd start one.

Hows everyones preparation going? Motivation going strong ?

Hitting the PS like no tmmrw trying to raise up my poor scores.

Anyone know how many days left till the dreaded day?

<-------------------- freaking out over hereeeeee......
At this point I think I've got speculation fatigue.

It's been long enough since the test that I can't even remember what it was about anymore. I vaguely remember how I felt coming out of it, but that means nothing. An easy-feeling test might be scaled harshly, and on the other hand the people who feel like they got chewed up and spit out are the ones posting about the miraculous +5 points higher than practice test average scores.

Meh.

Man, what is it with MCAT amnesia? I have it, too, and yet I can remember every other exam I've taken recently (from grad school.) Granted the MCAT is on a much larger scale, but still... probably a protection mechanism by our brains 😛

Ok so does anyone know what time the MCAT scores will definitely be up by on Tuesday? I'm guessing a bunch of people check at 12:00 am Tuesday (as in 1 minute after Monday as passed) but the thing is I hear everyone's having anxiety problems while doing that because the score's aren't up right away for some. When will all the scores be up for sure so I can just say hey, I'm not checking this until XX:XX X.X on Tuesday ? Any AAMC gurus know? Btw, speaking of AAMC a couple advisers I heard today pronounced it "double A, em-cee" (which I thought sounded a lot cooler cus it gets rid of the non-existent articulation point between the two A's.)

I think it's something like ~3 PM here in Michigan (EST time zone).

I've never heard the "double A" but I just said AAMC about 5 times trying to hear and the articulation point really is non-existent, lol.

Nope - " Your scores should be released 30-35 days after your test date. Please refer to our*2013 Registration Deadline and Score Release Schedule*for details"

The score release also emphasizes the tentative nature of the release date. As usual, AAMC reserves the right to take as much time as is needed, and not to inform us of what is going on - - while I normally try to respect this for the sake of proper organization, I am struggling with this lack of forthright communication right now (read, in the words of GOB, COME ON!!!).

When I last took it in 2009, some test dates had to wait days after the posted score release date. My scores posted on the official release date, but not til 7:30pm Pacific time.

This year, AAMC seems to have it pretty dialed in. Every test day thread that I've read through shows scores being posted around 3pm Eastern time on the announced release date.

Really beginning to freak out too... Had a dream last night scores came out early and at first I thought I got a 40, but then realized it was actually a 13....

Don't really have any idea how I did on the test as my practice scores were all over the place, but these were my general feelings for the individual sections (2PM):

Physical: Harder than any AAMC practice test physical section. I think other people may have agreed with this in previous posts. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good curve on this one.

Verbal: Didn't seem too bad. Although it's really hard to say because my practice verbal scores were super inconsistent (6-13 was my range), but I did go into it with a bad mindset initially after the rough PS. I think I turned that around after a few passages, so hopefully I didn't bomb those first few.

Biological: Again, not too bad. There seemed to be a few tricky freestanding questions but honestly none of the passages seemed as rough as I was anticipating after reading on these forums about how the bio section seems to be getting harder. Hopefully not too overconfident on this section.

Overall, PS is the section I keep freaking out over in my head. Why can't October 9th come any sooner??

Anyway, if I see either score from my dream on my computer screen on Tuesday I will **** my pants.

Meh...I know I've already said this but I personally thought that PS was the least challenging while Verbal was the most challenging while Bio was closer to verbal and pretty much just as challenging. Don't worry though. Apparently, most people thought similarly to you. Also it's important what you mean by hard. All my practice scores are 27-29 so by easy I mean I think I scraped a 10-11 while hard means 7-8 for verbal and 9 on bio...right now I'm having MCAT anxiety issues where I have done zero work for classes in the last 2-3 days and am so behind. It didn't help that yesterday I went to a medical school event where they emphasized the important of the MCAT lmao. Kind of like pouring lemon juice on a sore. Also, though all sections are critical, I feel PS is the least important if that makes you feel any better.

It is generally highly unlikely for a score to be posted early - I wonder if Columbus Day being tomorrow entirely precludes that chance. I most likely will never know. Thoughts?

Columbus day is one of AAMC's employee holidays, so I'd say that drops the chances of early score release from slim to nil.

I already know I did sh-t, so I've already started for January. I felt extremely sick, so wouldn't be surprised if it was below 25 (I didn't void, because it'd be my second time voiding and I was sick of being discouraged). Whatever.. =/
Same here, I felt horrible so all my efforts were spent trying to focus on the exam rather than how much I wanted to curl up and die, lol. Hopefully it's not as bad as I think, but I too am planning for January anyway. Studying is going to be ass though because this quarter is crazy for me! Oh well, stuff happens I guess.

I completely agree..
PS seemed easy, VR was the toughest and Bio was somewhere between the two.

Hopefully this PS section treats me well when I see my score tomorrow..It's usually my weaker section!

Hang in there everyone, it will be over soon!!

So did anyone else look up the score release date today just in case and see October 8th and freak out a little? Well I did...definitely looked at the 2013 release dates...for the september 7th date no less.

This anxiety is making me a little loopy!

Did you take the 8 am or 2 pm test?

My god... I was doing great for the last month. I almost completely forgot about the MCAT, knowing that its going to take ages until I get my score. I just focused on school and work...

But now that I (stupidly) decided to check SDN, I can't get the stupid scores out of my head. I've checked to see that they aren't up like 3 times in the last hour. I just need to chill out and wait until tomorrow...

ill be working on my AMCAS application and might do some shadowing. I am juust praaying i am not filled with regrets or despair tomorrow!

Who all is applying this year?
I am. I was planning to spend this cycle only applying to a handful of schools that will accept my 2009 MCAT score, already submitted in late August.

And then I got a wild hair and decided to retake the MCAT so that I could reapply to my state school, so I said what the hell and just crammed for a week. Needless to say my expectations are pretty low for tomorrow's score release, but I don't care. It just needs to be a valid 2012 score that's above their minimum. 🙄

What's everyone doing tm? Well those not in school

Got shafted with work from 9-5:30pm CST. -_- Not very happy with it, but hey..at least there's access to a computer.

This is my second time writing (Aug. 12, 2011 actual 32P - 11 7 14. Totally underestimated verbal and didn't study for it at all! That'll teach me.) Did not take a prep course either summer. I used "The Gold Standard" by Dr. Brett Ferdinand in 2011, and the Examkrackers series in 2012. Unfortunately didn't have access to the "1001 Questions in.." books from them though.

AAMC Avg 2011 (Tests 3,7,8):
PS - 11
VR - 7.33
BS - 13
WS - Not marked.
Overall score range: 30-32

AAMC Avg 2012 (Tests 4,5,9,10,11):
PS - 12.6
VR - 9.8 (Used EK 101 Passages)
BS - 14
WS - Q (All marked by TPR)
Overall score range: 34-37

AAMC 11: 12 9 14 (E-mcat.com) R (Marked by TPR)

Predicted: 35-37 Q-R

Overall I felt great about the test, but a question or two on "that" physics passage as well as one discrete got me in PS, as well as 2 discretes in BS.

I applied to 13 DO schools and a couple of my state MD schools. This was my July 14 retake since I got killed by verbal on that one so hopefully good news is coming my way and all of your guys way!!

Yeah this is my third time taking the mcat previous was 33P and 35P i'm hoping to do better so i can attend The Galaxy school of Medicine...wth ..lol you guys are bugging. Give me 27 or above and I'm done. Going to go to a simple med school and killing my USMLE and becoming the best doc in the universe.

Who all is applying this year?

I am. My application was processed two weeks ago so hopefully this exam goes well and I didn't waste my money. I'll be happy with anything above a 28 with at least a 9 in each section!!:xf:
The worrying will be over in less than 24 hours! 🙂
