They haven't even contacted me about my primary application or supplementary fee. I talked to a couple of in state students who are applying this year and they said the same thing...
 
Agreed...nothin yet. Waiting on them to receive my official DAT scores my status hasn't changed in a month. I'll keep waiting patiently.
 
I'm in state and there has been zero communications from that school, I also applied to UIC so I wonder if it might be in the same system?

I received an email from SIU that they have my application/supp. materials and currently have them under review.
 
Interview invite from SIU via e-mail today! They gave Oct 30th and 31st as options, every 30 minutes.
 
For those of you that got interviews, are you instate or OOS?

Anyone know what is an example of the ethical writing exercise they want us to do during the interview?
 
Something like "What would you do if you saw one of your classmates cheating during a test?"

AADSAS changed from invited for interview to received/application complete.

"Your file has been reviewed and is complete. A final decision has not been made at this time. When a final decision is made on your application we will contact you. Thank you for your patience."

I got received/application complete. Do you guys know what does it mean? Rejection or waitlist?
 
Probably waitlist/pending further review. If they rejected you, they would have no reason to withhold that information from you at this point. Stay hopeful!
 
@gmdent: Thanks for your encouragement. This is my top choice. I really hope to receive an acceptance from them!

Do you guys know when they will send the 2nd round of acceptances?
 
I had a tour guy say that they send out the second round of acceptances in January (early to mid if I remember correctly).
 
Hey guys I want to apply to SIU for this fall 2013.. I Have my application filled out and ready to turn in .. and i am taking the DAT soon.. My grades are solid (3.8). I know this is late, i just decided that i wanted to apply to dental school. Do you think i would still stand a chance if i got my application turned in now and took the DAT in a few weeks? or is it too late?

Received my acceptance today! Got an e-mail for a background check. I didn't want to get my hopes up but I checked AADSAS to make sure. Feels good to have that off my shoulders.

You just have to be patient. As long as you haven't received a rejection you are still in consideration.

I was just recently accepted as well. If I do not want to attend the school do I have to send a formal withdrawal email to them? For my other schools, I just let the deadline pass for accepting the offer.
 
Yes I will be attending. It is my home school and the only one I applied to for certain reasons so I was very nervous while waiting to hear from them.

I would tell you go ahead and attempt to get your application submitted. I am a current D1 student at SIU-SDM, and as long as your DAT is an 18+ (with your great GPA) you should be able to get an interview here in February as long as you take the DAT is submitted asap. Just FYI I submitted my application in October (of 2011), interviewed in the last week of January and accepted the next week. Also there are other students who submitted their application in January and got accepted so I would take the chance.

Last round of acceptances was about a month ago, but I don't know how many seats are left
 
I interviewed at SIUE on Feb. 14th and they said that the comittee will meet once again on Feb 15th and that they will let us know pretty soon where we stand! 🙂 Good luck everyone! #fingerscrossed

No not yet... The committee last met on Feb 15th.
 
Interviewed Feb 14th, ACCEPTED TODAY, feb 26th!!! Yay! 👍
