Is UK your top choice? It's my ONLY choice. 🙂 But if we will be classmates, it would be nice to stay in contact so we know someone when we start. Send me a message if you'd like!

Ahh! I hope this is real! Congrats Tunaman! And I think wait listed OOS could mean you still have a shot. I've heard some say at other schools that it says denied.

Waitlist #...don't quote me on this but my research professor (also the former head f the admissions committee) said that they didn't exactly have a wait list where they numbered it. (?) I was kind of confused by this but he said as the class changes as people accept or decline, they reevaluate each applicant on the list to decide who they'll offer acceptance to. Idk if I misunderstood but that's what I took from it. Good luck!
 
Is alternate status, the same as waitlisted? Sorry if it's a dumb question lol.

As far as I know (from the email I got) they appear to be the same thing, yes.

Here's to a few more weeks/months of waiting!

was waitlisted. I have acceptance at Midwest-Arizona though. I am oos. Was born at the UK hospital though while my dad was student at UK Law. Lexington is a fantastic place to live. And lets be honest, the basketball program is the best.

In keeping with ADEA guidelines, on Monday, December 3rd the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry began offering admission to selected applicants who we have interviewed. These candidates are being invited to enroll in the class entering in August 2013. As you may know, the Admissions Committee has been interviewing applicants since late August. I need to advise you that all of the interview dates are filled and regrettably we will no longer be scheduling interviews. As in previous years, we have received a large number of applications from candidates who are seeking admission to the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry and I anticipate that our class will be filled from the group of candidates who have interviewed with us to date.

got the same email
 
held for comparison and alternate are different. Alternate means wait listed & means you have a better chance than held for comparison which is like wait wait listed.

I'm not sure if they number their alternates

I haven't interviewed at UKY but my application still says "Received/Under Review" on my AADSAS profile, and I haven't received that email or any other updates from them. Maybe thats a sign to not lose hope?

Congrats to all of you who were accepted on Dec. 3! 🙂

I have an interview at UK on December 14th. I feel like there is no hope for an acceptance because first of all, I'm OOS and it's a post-December interview, which is definitely going to decrease my chances anyway.

Regardless, any words of advice for the interview?

They truly just want to get to know you, it is very much just a conversation. Be honest and try to stay calm so your answers don't sound weird or forced or anything like that.

Also, the sandwiches we had for lunch there were delicious, so that was nice.
 
Accepted Dec.3 as OOS! :soexcited: UK has always been my dream school! But I also got accepted to UofL... sort of torn. So, if anyone wants to give some adivce on how to choose please do!
 
I am in the same boat with UK and UofL acceptances. I loved both schools, and the people seemed really great. It will be a tough decision either way. I just want to be sure to make the right decision. Trust me I know how you feel.

Please keep us posted on your decision. I'm on the UK waitlist and its the only school I've heard back from
 
The gave my interview group burnt pizza, horrible. I will be declining my acceptance, hope it opens up a seat for one of you. Best of luck

I will keep you updated for sure. It will be a very tough decision either way.
 
UK has the smaller class size and it's right on the UK campus. Lexington is a great town and we would be the first class in the new sim lab. But I'm still not convinced why not to go to Louisville. What do other people think?
 
Seems like alot of people are debating betweeen Louisville and UK. Could you post which one is more heavily favored at this point? For example: 60/40 Louisville. Thanks! Congrats to everyone who got accepted to any school! Im sure you will receive a great eduacation wherever you go!
 
I am 80/20 Kentucky right now. Ill keep you updated on where I go. Are you oos?

Ahh. Thanks for the update. Yea Im OOS. Hopefully there are others turning down UK though. Im going to go ahead and start preparing my application for next cycle so this time of "waiting" is not wasted. Good luck at UK! Hopefully see you sooner than later lol
 
UK bound! 🙂 Louisville is too big of a city for me. I will be much, much happier in Lexington. Can't wait to meet the class of 2017!!!!!
