RSalha17, sounds like you have amazing ECs and letters... I'm not one to turn down any offer of help, so sure if I don't get any bites by Dec I'll PM you for a bit of your PS. I can send you mine and you'll have to let me know what you think. 🙂

Oh- and just to be clear, I never asked if you were URM- I never even thought that for a second! To do so (to assume that your interviews are based on race rather than merit) is insulting to both you and all URMs!

Mine was Inivted for Interview but updated on 11/7 back to Received/Under Review just after my interview.

My status never changed from "invited for interview" after my interview...weird.
 
Is the date of your "received/under review" still from the original date or did it recently re-update?

Does anyone's UCSF status show up as "Please check back on Dec 3rd" or whatever if you have interviewed? Mine is just showing up as "Received/Under Review" so I was wondering how other people's are...thanks for taking the time out to check! 🙂

Mine has remained at "Invited for Interview" for a while.

Mine also still says "Received/Under Review"... interviewed in Nov. :S
 
Lol I JUST received the secondary earlier today (Friday)... and the second email (with the login info) isn't showing up... will have to call on Monday. Should I bother filling this out? Sorry to sound apathetic, I'm not! Like everyone here I love UCSF but I don't want to spend more money this late in the cycle if it's going to turn into an auto-rejection... Plus I'm OOS...

Exactly my point. And I believe UCLA was also in the list? yeah....I wouldn't think too much about the post.

Yikes that is quite late! I got mine a few days after my AADSAS was submitted. I'm surprised it took so long for you. Did you check your spam folder? Mine was marked as spam.

I know what you mean about it being late in the cycle... It can be such a coin toss sometimes so I don't want to tell you not to submit your supp. Can anyone with more experience with UCSF's timeline chime in?

Found them in my spam folder... weird, nothing besides spam ever goes into the spam folder (except of course potentially life-altering emails from d-schools, go figure). Still wondering about whether or not I should fill it out this late... I figure I will but wondering how likely is it I will hear back with anything favorable? (I know replies will be based off speculations but anyone w/ more knowledge on this matter than I, please share your thoughts!)

I would say yes. It is a state school, and I think they accept WICHE for OOS. So when you look at their stats from last year, I think the OOS also includes WICHE. I'm not entirely sure though. What I can tell you is that if you are OOS and interviewed, they are really interested in you because most of the class is in-state. 🙂

That's what I thought too but then according to their website under the FAQ:

"Do you give preference to California residents? If I grew up in California, but I am going to school out of state, can I still apply as a California resident?
No, we do not give a preference to California residents."

So I'm not sure if they don't give preference for Cali residents because of WICHE or just in general.
 
Do you think UCSF will call us for acceptance and rejections and waitlist on Dec 3rd? or They only announce good news to ppl on Dec? And may be email your waitlist ranking number and leave the rejections in silence? I'm not sure how UCSF's process works...

Congratulations to all who received calls so far!!

I wanted to ask, there probably is no correlation, but I thought I might as well ask. Did your AADSAS status show up as "invited for interview" or "received/under review" right now?

I wonder how long the calls will go on for? Anyones portals change/receive an e-mail yet? Eeek my hope dwindles with every minute

At my interview they said they're gonna shoot to get around half the class full. They're gonna hand out more than 44 acceptances since there will inevitably be some folks who will decline.

Yeah, they told us that they were going to send around 60 offers and expected to fill about 45 seats.

Still waiting to hear something. Stomach in knots...

just got it around 10:50 so there is still hope out there guys
 
60 huh? well that isn't bad! I REALLY want to get that call from these guys though. UCLA called me an hour back and I can finally rest easy knowing I'm going somewhere at least next year...still though would like to keep my SF options open!
 
ACCEPTED!!!! Phone call around 11 am, I'm OOS!!!! Thank you UCSF for giving me a chance... omggg
 
I have always been badmouthing schools like UAB and Georgia cause they don't accept out of states (or they take very few). I was getting worried the UCs are becoming like those. Congrats Dusk!

Haha, I never badmouthed them, but didn't apply there because I knew they wouldn't accept OOS. I was actually hoping the UCs DO become like those schools and take in-state kids only, so then I had a better chance, hah. I feel as if CA kids get screwed easily, unfortunately.

Regardless, congrats to everybody who heard back, and hopefully the rest of us will hear some good news soon too!:xf:
 
Also got a phone call this morning (PST 8:30). See you guys next year!!!
