Anyone on here wonder the way that UIC waitlists applicants? It's strange in comparison to the way other dental schools waitlist applicants. It seems like some pre December interviewees were waitlisted in December, others in January, and more in February. What's the logic behind waitlisting people like that? Wouldn't they waitlist all pre December interviewees in December if the admissions committee was meeting once a month reviewing applications?
And as for the applicants who were waitlisted, it seems like many have really solid DAT scores, and grades that are at or above average not just for UIC, but many other dental schools. Some already have multiple acceptances (besides UIC), scholarships other schools, etc. According to the "2012 ADEA Official Guide To Dental Schools" it reports that the UIC entering class average AA/PAT/TS were 19.4/19.4/19.3 w/ranges of 16-24/15-25/15-24 and average science GPA of 3.4 w/range of 2.36-4.12 and total GPA of 3.5 w/ranges of 2.32-4.07. So, my question is does anyone else besides myself find it odd that UIC has a range of these DAT scores and grades for an entering class, but many of the waitlisted applicants at UIC have DAT scores and grades that are clearly at or above the average?
