***The Official UIC Class of 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

For UIC, your status won't change until you get the acceptance call. A day or two after the call, it will change to "Offer Made." If you don't receive the acceptance call, it shall remain "Invited for interview" for a while.

Hello everyone! I applied kind of late and just got an invite for an interview on Jan 13th. Any tips for the interview?

Congrats! You will have 2 mini closed file interviews 15-20 mins long each. The questions will be very straightforward. They will basically ask about your volunteering work and shadowing experience. They may also ask an ethical question. Everyone is very friendly and they will make you feel confortable. Good luck.

I guess they won't be sending more acceptance letters....... Since they prob sent all of them at 8am
 
Will UIC inform those who did not get an offer if they are wait-listed or rejected?
 
I'm kind of surprised they didn't do the phone call this year.

To answer some of your questions, usually they will send out another wave after they've heard back from the first-wave acceptances (which will fall in mid-late january). Those who didn't hear from them usually receive status update in the spring. So you probably won't know whether you're waitlisted or rejected yet. Don't be too worried if you haven't heard back yet. Like I said ealier, if you received a pre-dec interview your chance of getting accepted is pretty decent.

Lastly, congratulation for those who got accepted! Welcome to the UIC CoD family. Let me know if you guys plan to start a Facebook group. I will invite some of the current D1s into the group.

Thank you Jttran! My interview was October 15th. I consider myself a strong applicant and UIC is my top school. I hope to hear from UIC soon!
 
Accepted via email yesterday! Still haven't decided yet though
 
Hi guys! Does anyone know if there is any chance of getting accepted if you had a post-dec1 interview? This is my first choice but i do have a seat somewhere else but id rather not put down the hefty deposit if i can help it.

You still have a chance of getting accepted! Since they accept people on rolling basis, of course the earlier you interview the better. If you look at previous years' threads, you will see example of people with post-dec interview getting accepted. Best of luck!

You're taking a risk by not putting that deposit down. There is no guarantee UIC will accept your before Jan1st ( this is when most schools have the deposit due). So not only will you be stuck in limbo with UIC, but you would have also lost your chace to go to the other school as well.

Put the deposit down and let things flow. At least you will have a school to go to in the fall.

Thanks for the hope you're quite right about the post-dec acceptances (i looked at the previous years post). I just hope that I am one of those lucky few:xf:.

True it is risky. I'll put my deposit down and hope for the best as far as uic is concerned:nod:.

Invited for an interview January 13th! Does anyone have any insight on the questions they ask and a run down on what the day is like?

Accepted!! Yesterday January 27th via email. I interviewed in mid November. I can't wait to meet one! 😀

i'm just wondering if they're now pulling ppl off the waitlist or if they still have a bunch of candidates for first consideration.

Thank you! And I never got an email saying that I was wait listed. My addsas remained as invited for an interview. Good luck!
 
Any luck and movement for those who interviewed post December 1st?
