The Official UNE Class of 2018 Interview/Acceptance Thread

I received the waitlist e-mail as well. I'm hoping they burn through the list pretty quickly. I would love to go there!
 
So, thats 10 SNDers on waitlist so far.... We can hope that we are early in the list or hopefully there are many open seats.

Hey guys I also got on the waitlist too but my letter said that my removal from the waitlist if a
seat becomes available is conditional upon successful completion with a ‘C’ or better in my microbiology course. Did anyone else get anything similar?
 
wondering if anyone has received rejections and when will the "wait listed" status get updated, next month or anytime from now to June? Does anyone have any inside information?

I am wondering that too. I got the wait list email as well (my PDF didn't ask me to take / repeat a course). Isaac told me back in December there would be wave of acceptances in Jan, Feb & March. Maybe they'll offer acceptances from batches from the wait list in waves from now on. I think, as previously mentioned, they didn't have a wait list last year.

It might be the case that everyone who did not get accepted (that interviewed) are on the waitlist... I only know of a few people who got rejected from UNE (did not interview). They interviewed ~350-400 so.. :-/

Hopefully there's more movement.
 
There are many possible reasons a wait list moves. Schools accept later in the cycle, and people accept at other schools. There are also "multiple spot holders," which at some point, reports are run and those students are given a deadline to make a decision. That happens later in spring. Just because a class is full does not mean there is zero chance. Concerts are sold out-but that just means the tickets have been sold to a primary purchaser....you can always get tickets to the sold out show folks! Good luck and don't get crazy!

I just got an email asking if I wanted to remain on the waitlist. I hope this somehow shortens the waitlist, because I am still waiting for an acceptance! 🙁
 
I just got an email from UNE this morning.
It says, "As we approach the start of classes in August I am sending this e-mail to see if you are still interested in attending UNE should a seat become available. Please note that any courses listed on your waitlist letter need to be completed with a 'C' or better by the start of the program to be eligible to be pulled from the waitlist. Please fill out the link below regarding your current interest in remaining on the waitlist: Please keep us informed of any changes in your contact information. We will communicate with you as soon as possible regarding any changes in admissions status."

But, sadly, I am going to withdraw my application from UNE. This is one of the most beatiful school that I have been visited and I felt the professors and students were so warm and friendly. I am pretty sure someone who attend this school will be happy about the environment and atmosphere there. Good luck!

No. You will go in June and July with Mondays off and Friday afternoons off. So an extended weekend. August you will be off. If the schedule stays the same as it is planned now.
 
No still waiting. I haven't heard anything except monthly emails to see if I am still interested.
Does anyone know when the next admissions committee meeting is?
 
I'm still waiting also. I only received the one survey type email asking if I was still interested. According to last years forum there were a couple of acceptances on April 8th so hopefully they will be meeting soon to keep up on what they did last year.
 
Just got a call from Isaac that I have been accepted off of the wait list! I am already going somewhere else so I hope I freed up a spot for someone else! Good Luck!
 
Congrats to all that have been accepted to UNE. I went to school there when it was Westbrook College. What a great atmosphere! I have applied, interviewed and have been wait listed to class 0f 2018. I just signed onto this forum in hopes to get an idea of how much the wait list is moving. I have heard from 1st year students there now, that many were wait listed and look where they are now. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I am a Maine native and raising my family here. I have been in the dental field for 20 years now. I am a true believer that any dream can be accomplished if you try hard enough.

Has anyone heard anything from UNE recently? I am currently still wait-listed and am interested in hearing from other wait-listers if any news has come up regarding admissions.
 
I am wait listed as well, I have not heard anything regarding admissions either.
 
Same here guys. I am waitlisted long ago and have not heard back. The worst thing is that 2015 application is already started and I don't know if I should be reapplying to a bunch of school again. Wouldn't it look weird if I reapply to UNE while I am still in waiting list?!

Nope, it would not look weird at all.
 
What are the letter of recommendation requirements for UNE? I can't seem to find them on their site!

I had three letters total: two science professors and one dentist.

Have you reviewed the current ADEA dental school guide? It should list all application requirements. I accessed it at my university library. Check with your school's pre-dent advisor.

Did anyone hear anything? Has anyone seen any movement at all? It has been fairly quiet. Any updates will be truly appreciated.
 
My status went from "Invited for Interview" to "Please check back on December 1 for more information regarding your status." Hopefully that means there's something exciting to check back for!
