Do you guys got a conformation email after you called them to confirm the interview date?

I received a confirmation email about 2 days before my actual interview.

i submitted my secondary 2 weeks ago and still have not heard anything. Does a secondary guarantee an interview invite? also, should i call to find out what's going on?

The confirmation comes within a week of your actual interview date since the dates are set by them tentatively. I didn't change the date they gave me. If you did then im not sure.

Got my supplemental the 6th. Submitted the 10th. Invited on the 11th. Confirmation on the 25th. Interviewed yesterday (Oct. 1)

Average stats.

Did you just use SDN interview feedback to prepare?

yup and the questions were pretty standard. Except they hit me with all the tough ones haha, they really unloaded on me. I asked the others and they all got asked the fun questions that I was hoping to be asked but mine were all serious and pretty tough.

But looking back in retrospect, it wasn't really the answer you give them that mattered. Its how you gave it to them. Be descriptive. Tell short stories. If its an ethics question, give multiple view points/perspectives. And most importantly, stay calm. The setting is really relaxed. There's no need to rush an answer, just tell it as if you were telling a good friend, the interviewers were really polite.

My answers were a bit too rushed I feel, if I had just paused for a second or two to flesh things out, I would have a left the interview a lot more confident.

Hope thats helpful and goodluck!!!

Had the same question. I submitted over 2 weeks ago though. I called earlier this week and contrary to popular belief, was told that the secondary does NOT guarantee an interview. They can only tell you if they received your secondary (for which you were sent the confirmation e-mail for anyway). I honestly think for the people that have not heard back for a while will probably receive a post-december interview at some point (seeing that they are filling mid/late November slots already and are actively sending out secondaries)

Interview offered (for November 5th) one day after submission of supplemental application.

Stats:

sGPA: 3.95
oGPA: 3.80
DAT (AA, TS, PA, QR, RC): 22, 22, 22, 19, 25
OOS residency

When did you submit your secondary? I submitted mine on October 1 and haven't heard anything yet. Anyone know if this has any sort of implications?

Same here....

My friend got an interview with a 18AA and he's OOS. Under 20dat ppl get interviews

I went to interview...and i felt like people who got interview were people who had a lot of volunteering hours and service hours. and UMB definately emphasized a lot on services amd giving back to community...may be that is the one thing different between ppl who got interview and ppl who did not get interview???

Absolutely not true. I only have like 75 hours shadowing and a little more volunteering. I interviewed on oct 1

Agreed. I also have around 75 hours and received an interview.

I received the secondary on 9/24, submitted it on 9/25, and received interview invite on 9/26 via email.

To those who already interviewed or are Baltimore residents:

Could I depend on the Light Rail to get from BWI to Downtown and back? and does it get affected by snow (interviewing in mid November)?

Yes, you can trust the light rail and I highly doubt it will snow mid november.

People who have received October supplementals- how long after did you get an interview invite and when are they scheduling for right now?

for anybody that attended the interview, was it intensive and how was it compared to other schools?

Really chill. Financial office lady was a blast. Everyone loved her. Also guides were cool and most of them were nice in their business suits. One of interviewer (not mine) cracked up his interviewees and had really good time and all. Loved it. Smaller group. Niceee

did they ask any weird questions and was the interview one on one?

One to two (one prof. One studenr interviewer)
No..everything fron sdn interview feedback.

I definitely agree with jHoon in that I got hit with all the serious/tough questions. I was expecting the interview to be a lot more relaxed/chill according to people who already interviewed there, but mine was super serious. I was actually relaxed/happy walking into the room for my personal interview, but the interviewers didn't even smile at all and grilled me question after question and it definitely caught me off guard.
They had like 5 different interviewers, so I think the interview style- whether it will be relaxed or serious- will depend on who you get as an interviewer.

I'm just gonna hope for the best.

I felt the same way at my interview. My interviewers were nice enough but seemed incredibly unenthusiastic and blah the whole time. They would ask a question, I would answer it, and then they would give me a blank stare for a minute... then move onto the next question. It didn't leave me with a good feeling.

Yeah!! that blank stare and silence made me feel so uncomfortable so it was sooo hard to be myself and be conversational.
I didn't feel too good coming out of the interview bc this is one of my top schools.

So glad I'm not the only one. I just wanted to be like "soooo, I'm kinda getting the vibe that you hate me, so I'll just leave if you want me to."

She also ended it with "thanks for coming." I hate that.

Who was your faculty and student interviewer? Just curious because mine were really nice, and I did have some silence but they seemed to have really enjoyed the entire time I was being interviewed.

Dr. Garrett was my interviewer (don't remember the student's name). She was nice, but was either too serious or just not personable.

Topshelf, were you also there the afternoon of the 16th? If so, we may have met each other! 🙂

Has anyone gotten an Interview invite recently? Does anyone know if any Pre-December Interviews are open still? Thanks!

I received a supp app and submitted on the 20th! Is that a good sign?

I'm still waiting to hear back from Maryland too!!! =/ looks like all the pre-Dec interviews are almost up.!!

Received interview today OOS, pre-dec on Nov. 19th.
Received and submitted supplement on Oct. 11th.

This makes me wonder how they're prioritizing or scheduling their interviews... I received an invite on 10/1 but they scheduled me for 11/20. Interesting.

So I just received a secondary application from MD! After reading through some threads it looks like the general consensus is that a secondary=interview. BUT, it seems that some people disagree. Does anyone know for sure?

Secondary = interview. What was your DAT score, btw?

Hey Iwen, how do you know for sure?

I actually took the DAT's twice. 1st: 21AA/21TS/22PA, 2nd: 23/23/22

I've seen it written multiple times on SDN that for Maryland: secondary = interview. Sometimes ppl get the interview invite right away, others might have to wait, but either way secondary = interview.

In the past, a secondary meant you would get an interview. However, this year seems to have a considerable amount of people who received the secondary but have yet to receive an interview.

Gah... I was afraid of this...

How long after aadsas complete did supplemental come? Still haven't received one 🙁 do I still have a shot
