On the school's website it says 85% are in-state, then 10-15% are from WICHE applicants..... but ADEA Dental School Explorer shows someone from CA entered last cycle. Does anyone know if would it be remotely worth it to apply here from CA then?

I would encourage you to apply! Even though UWSOD gives priority to in-state and WICHE applicants, you have competitive stats. If there's some aspect of this school that you really like, I would recommend sending in an application. Good luck!!

I’m guessing no one has heard back yet? Waiting for interviews is torture, checking my email constantly! Haha

I haven't heard anything back yet, but my last rec letter came in yesterday so my application has only been complete since then, even though I submitted it on the 9th. Last year, the first interview invites seem to have come in the first week of August.

I noticed the same thing. I guess we just need to be patient :bang:

I'd still apply but UW is prettttty expensive for OOS so also consider the price!

Happy to hear I’m not the only one waiting. I also heard that they sent the invites out early August last year, so not hearing anything by now is killing me!

Interview #3! September 20th & 21st. (IS) Feeling pretty nervous about this MMI format, anyone have any advice on that?

Hello! Congrats to everyone who has an interview so far! If you haven't heard back yet don't fret - I didn't receive my interview invitation until October. I am the Vice President of the class of 2023 and one of my roles is to help everyone going through the interview process, answer any questions about UWSOD, and help students connect as they get in.

This is what I can tell you about the MMI: Some people study and practice for it and other people just go for it. I did two mock MMIs before interview day. You'll be in a hallway with 7 or so other applicants standing in front of 7 doors. Each door will have a statement or question. When instructed you will have two minutes to stand up and read the paper. Then you will have 5 or so minutes to talk about the prompt. This may seems like a lot of time but it goes really quick once you're in the room. They mostly want to see your thought process, ability to communicate, etc. For the most part they are all hot topics that you will be able to form an opinion on.

Be yourself, smile, and relax. After the first one you will realize how easy it is to form an opinion and have a conversation with your interviewer.

Hope this helps!

Has anyone heard anything in regards to their applications and/or interview invitations?

Has anyone’s status changed on AADSAS ?

Has anyone’s status changed on AADSAS ?

Mine still says "invited for interview" and I interviewed in September. I've heard sometimes people's status will change to "accepted" the day before acceptance day, but I wouldn't expect an update before then.

Congrats to everyone who received an acceptance today! I was expecting one today also but my status still only says "invited for interview" so it seems like I'll be waiting a bit longer to hear back. Does anyone know about how long it generally is before they send out their second wave of acceptances?

Congratulations to everyone who received their acceptance today! All your hard work payed off and you've been accepted to the 3rd best dental school in the nation!! If you are planning to accept your offer, please find your way to your class Facebook page. Search "UWSOD 2024." This page is there to help you meet your classmates, ask questions, and ensure a smooth start to dental school.

If you did not receive the news you've been hoping for - UW continues to send out acceptances. When my class was going through this process last year we did not hear about a waitlist, but students continued to receive acceptances through at least March. Try to stay positive!

Do y'all think it's too soon to call and ask about my application? What do you think about letters of intent? I know Sue said no thank you letters after the interview, but maybe a letter of intent is ok?

Does anyone know if UW has institutional scholarship? (Dean's scholarship)

Does anyone know if UW has institutional scholarship? (Dean's scholarship)
If so how much is the amount of scholarship? Is it close to the amount private schools offer (~80k)?

For those who’ve been offered and accepted the spot, do you know when the deadline from the registrar is to pay the first deposit? I made my UW NetId and account but I haven’t seen if there is any specific deadline to pay the deposit with the registrar?

Is there anyone else here who is a Washington resident with above average numbers and who thought their interviews went well, but has spent the last 2 months going insane and trying to figure out why they haven't already been accepted? Waiting to hear back on acceptances has been unexpectedly excruciating.

I am also a WA resident waiting to hear back. Interview went well but have a lower gpa and high dat. I feel like we’re in similar situations. Interviewed at UT Houston and applied to hsps.

Wow, our situations are pretty similar. Let me know how everything goes. Did you apply to Army HPSP? I got an invite to interview at USC about an hour ago. I applied about two weeks ago.
